  1. Oil fill cap ring dropped out

FYI, this was actually the first ever time I changed oil on this car........ by myself. Dealer offered me free oil-change before. So just wonder. The thing actually looks more like a rubber collar, with a height of 2-3 mm. It's not the typical o-ring shape that fit into the groove of the plastic...
  2. Oil fill cap ring dropped out

Just wanted to let everyone to keep an eye on this when filling engine oil. When I removed the cap , I found the rubber sealing ring came out and sit on top of the opening. I was lucky to spot this (black on black) and didn't move and drop it down the bay. This ring should be inside the plastic...
  3. Smell of grease?

Been having a kind of strange smell occasionally like once a month or two. Best described as the smell of those cheap brownish thick all purpose grease. I am sure nothing to do with clutch burn/slip and they smell different. Tried to relate it to weather, may be more often on hot/humid day, but...
  4. 10th Gen Skid Plate Screw and Fastener Part Numbers

The skid plate sits above the black rubber piece. Even some dealers get this wrong and you end up with a hanging and damaged plate. Also for the 90 degree bolts, make sure you push in with pressure before you turn them to lock, they are easy to lose.
  5. For those who have DIY'ed MTF change, simple question...

How did you keep the car close to level during the change? Did you use 4 jack stands but how did you get them under the two rear jacking points? If it is by just jacking up the front, then using the level check hole has not much meaning as it works correctly only when car is level. And if you...
  6. Rev Indicator

No you didn't. Both rev indicator, or if you actually mean shift warning light, are there. The rev indicator can be displayed in the middle of the tach by switching the info button on the steering wheel (together with other options like turbo gauge, navi, fuel mileage...etc). It's a set of...
  7. How are our 10th gen Si owners feeling now?

Thanks for the write up! Are the brake/gas pedal positions easier for heel toeing? I've also heard from few reviews the car feels very planted. I am really curious....the 10th gen already feels very plated, how much planted can the 11th gen be?? Planted like the legendary...
  8. How are our 10th gen Si owners feeling now?

With many reviews of the 11th gen came out yesterday ( I haven't watched/read all yet), it seems to me it's kind of one-sided saying it's a very good Si. But how good/better it is comparing to the 10th gen is another question. So eager to wait for some of you to report. When the 10th gen first...
  9. Came up with "1" idea about muffler delete....

A great idea! Mechanically simple and manually adjustable. And I guess as long as the diameter fits and they should be pretty much universal parts, no need to custom make anything. I had a Honda CBR954 before and IIRC, it was the first similar bike then to have a exhaust valve like your idea...
  10. Came up with "1" idea about muffler delete....

Thank you for the input. Yes I have thought of this too and I am exactly thinking to just make that side straight out, just route it like most common two sides delete. Since the gas coming up to this point is just from one pipe anyway, I believe it won't make any significant pressure difference...
  11. Came up with "1" idea about muffler delete....

I want a bit more exhaust note, well may be a bit more than a bit so I won't bother with just resonator delete. Seems to me muffler delete is the way to go. But some Si'ers here say it could be a bit too loud, I guess all depends on your taste and your neighborhood's taste. Has anyone thought...
  12. Required tuning?

The SRI alone should give you enough turbo "shhh" and "pshhhh" sound without risking a harmful blow off valve. . I have a BMS SRI and that's good enough for sound fun. Warn you it's very additive in the beginning when you let off your pedal quickly after hard acceleration.
  13. Rev match steps safe?

Electronic throttle, and this gen particularly, is not as direct as it should be when blipping the throttle. Sometimes when you blip the pedal like 30%, the engine(rpm) is not responding in proportion, or even not responding at all. You will experience this soon.
  14. Skid Plate?

Have you got a chance to find out if it fits? I did some search but seems like no one ever confirmed if the type-r one fits, though many talked about it. We need a simple yes/no answer and please solve this mystery for us!:D
  15. Shifter Problems??? 2020 Civic Si Sedan

Stock here. The shifter doesn't feel like a "diagonal" line when going from 3rd to 2nd. Yes, mechanically it's always a down, left, down movement. But take my 9th gen Si for example, it felt like a diagonal line when I shifted, so smooth. So even it's a shorter throw than the 9th gen, the time...

  17. Low beam indicator

Just want to clarify we are talking about the same lights. I believe your parking lights are the same as my marker/tail lights. Then why wouldn't I drive with them on? If you have low beam on, they are also on at same time, you just can't turn them off. May be it's different in the states...
  18. Low beam indicator

OP is technically right. That indicator will turn on even with just DRL and the marker/tail light on, but low beam off. That's "position 1" on the light switch control stick. So it's actually a marker/tail light indicator instead of a low beam indicator. I also notice if you set to auto, it...
  19. What do you hear people saying about you own a Si?

"I always wanted to learn manual, it's cool." Almost forgot this very common reaction of my passengers, particular male passenger. Come on, let's face it, you will never learn manual. You just keep saying this when you see someone drives one. And one day when you really go learn manual, there...
  20. What do you hear people saying about you own a Si?

I had more than once after this comment, a female added " I prefer Corolla more."!!!!
