  1. 2017 Civic. Ambient Light Sensor rattled. It fell into the dash when I removed the cover

I've been having issues recently with an annoying rattle from the Ambient Light Sensor (at least I believe thats the culprit). I removed the cover with a flat head screwdriver, and the sensor immediatly fell down a few inches, and now rests where I can barely get my pinky to touch it. Other...
  2. Oil change and service interval currently falls around january. Possible to delay/advance it 6 months?

I know I can change the oil early (I've already changed the oil a few times in summer in addition to the winter change). I just want the maintainance reminder to know that I changed the oil in july, so that it wont request a new change in january, because it thinks the oil is one year old.
  3. Oil change and service interval currently falls around january. Possible to delay/advance it 6 months?

My Civic is now due for it's last oil change and service before the Warranty expires. I plan to start changing my own oil and doing services on my own from now on. Only problem is, since this car was purchased new in january 2017, the annual oil change and service minder wants me to change the...
  4. 11th GEN CIVIC TYPE R SPIED!!

Not gonna lie, I love what I see. It looks like the perfect marriage between a Hatchback and a sedan. If I didn't love my 2017 so much I would probably be an idiot and buy a brand new car all over again
  5. Milky oil, yet full coolant reservoir.

Good to know it's a relative benign problem. I know the 1.5 is very slow to warm up. My daily commute is about 20 minutes so I guess it's too short of a ride to fully burn off the condensation and vapours. I will probably do another oil change myself come spring so at least the problem will be...
  6. Milky oil, yet full coolant reservoir.

Removed the oil cap on my 2017 Civic 1.5T Sedan today and got very worried when I saw a milky substance on my (aftermarket) oil cap. I had an oil change back in january, and this is the first time inspecting the oil cap since then. My immediate fear was a broken headgasket since a milky oil cap...
  7. why did you buy a civic?

Styling, price, reliability + performance. The last one especially since high powered daily drivable cars in Norway are much, much rarer than you think. We have plenty of Audis, Merceders and BMWs, but 90% of those are with the lowest end diesel engines.
  8. Oil dilution fix in europe?

In Norway my dealer had also never heard of this issue, and claimed it wasn't a problem since they hadn't gotten any information from Honda about it. My car clearly has strong gasoline smell from the oil, and the oil is slightly above the max level, but changing the oil is the only "fix"...
  9. Will Honda Take it Lying Down?

Is it just me, or does does it bother anyone else that the Megane driver cuts a lot of corners and almost gets all 4 wheels into the grass at some point? Especially at 0:50, 1:20 and 2:30. I'm don't know the rules for a qualified lap, but surely that can't be far of from a disqualified lap? Not...
  10. Only using 91 Octane in FK8?

I'm considering swapping my 2017 civic 1.5L sedan to a 2017 civic type R if I am getting a good deal on the swap (which I might just get). In Norway, we obviously use use the European method of measuring Octane, and pretty much the only gasoline that is available for sale here is 95RON, which...
  11. Oil catch can waste of money?

I bought a cheaper one from ebay that was made for this car. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oil-Catch-Can-Tank-Air-Oil-Separator-Kit-Hose-Black-For-HONDA-CIVIC-2016-2017/312705978551?fits=Model%3ACivic%7CMake%3AHonda&hash=item48ceba90b7:g:aB8AAOSwCGVcRvDr I've only had it on for about 5000KM, but...
  12. The most popular compact car in America is...

It's been shifting heavily in favour of autos the last 5 years.
  13. The most popular compact car in America is...

Meanwhile, in Norway, I cannot for the life of me find a new or used specimen of a Honda Civic with a manual transmission... I've been meaning to swap my cvt for a manual since before this summer, and no cars are available in the whole country.... God damn electric cars taking over.
  14. What do you carry (Glovebox, Trunk, Center Console)?

ITT: Americans: Glove box: Muh gun Center Console: Muh other gun Trunk: Muh AR15 :flame:
  15. The (tuned) elephant in the room.

I live in Norway and both Ktuner and Hondata are pretty much unavailable here, and has to be shipped from the states. I had no experience with tuning and no prefferance between Hondata and Ktuner, but when I made a thread on this forum asking advice for how to best tune my CVT Civic, @KTuner...
  16. Tune/mod my civic

I did the research. Most European sellers are more expensive than American ones, even with the higher shipping cost. It's funny because I find myself in your own shoes. I didn't care much about Honda before my Civic either, but now I absolutely love the brand, and it's a shame how rare these...
  17. Tune/mod my civic

Fellow Scandinavian here. The aftermarket for parts here equals zero, and Amazon doesn't ship to Norway (for the most part), but luckily you can find a lot of the things you need from Ebay. I ordered my PRL Short Ram Intake and Ktuner 1.2 from PRLs Ebay page which offers global shipping. I also...
  18. Is this damage 100% repairable?

Thank you all for your replies. :) It will be a pass for me as well. Let's just hope another Civic with a manual will become available for a decent price.
  19. Is this damage 100% repairable?

Ok so I am concidering trading out my -17 Sedan with a CVT to a -18 hatchback with a manual. Long story short, there are not many Civics for sale in Norway, and the only manual that falls within my affordability when taking a trade in is one they offer as a demo car at one dealership. I was...
  20. People who traded their CVT for Manual (or otherway), why did you do it? Do you regret it?

You always give wise words @gtman  You are right, I am extremly happy with my car. I know the stock clutch is also a weak point, however this part is relatively cheap (at least compared to a totaled CVT) and possible upgrade and fix yourself in the driveway if it's worn out. I haven't...
