Update: Took her into the dealer on Sat and got a thumbs-up that all is well. Suspected rock in breaks or snow in heat shield confirmed by service folks.
New: Driving home from the dealer, accelerating from a stop to go over defunct train tracks (aka I was rolling under the speed limit of 50...
Hey - There was no obvious strange noise at higher speeds... that being said the highway is torn up for repaving, so there may have been something that was overwhelmed by road noise. I am taking her in on Sat to get everything verified as ok/not damaged. Thanks for the follow-up :D
Unfortunately the next closest dealership is a solid 30min away. I worked with a dealership 45min away on a previous car and decided to never do that again. Fingers crossed this one works out. The Purchase was sketchy until I dealt directly with the sales manager.
A very good friend of mine...
I was in enforcement too for a while, now working with the public through other gov't agencies. I appreciate your approach and I use the same; respect earns respect ;) I've never had good experiences at dealerships before, so I've always used an outside mechanic that I've got a great rapport...
EXACTLY this! I might just bring it by the dealership Sat for a quick look - make sure nothing was damaged. With a vehicle so low to the ground you can barely see under it laying on the ground with a headlamp... and having worked with my flight instructor to help diagnose his '19 sedan's...
I'm not reading anything this person is posting so glad you enjoyed it. Nothing good will come from me reading it, and their existence means nothing to me so :rolleyes1:
Murphy's Law happened; when driving it to the dealer this morning the noise was gone. Makes me think it was totally a rock in the breaks. Now I'm wondering why this issue would be so common with Civics..? I've owned a handful of cars and never had such an issue.
Thanks to everyone who...
When someone spends tens of thousands of dollars on something that starts sounding like it's falling apart in less than a week a little upset is due... no??
Passive aggressive is a road well travelled for you I see, and it doesn't become you.
Thanks for this - it’s actually not a high-pitched noise, it’s low and rattles, like a piece of sheet metal being dragged over concrete or metal on metal.
Great suggestions everyone - I’ll certainly update with the official prognosis tomorrow.
I’ll try, but I’m not driving it again until I’m on the way to the dealer. If this noise is “normal” than I don’t understand why ANYBODY would EVER buy such a hunk of trash.
Just to add, they are both black 2019s. His is a sedan and mine is a coupe. Couldn’t hear too much until the window was rolled down... then it was unnervingly wretched.
It sounds like something metal is dragging under the car intermittently. The week before I picked her up a good friend had the same issue with his. Sounded identical. He hasn’t had time to take it in. Mine will be parked for service first thing Monday. I’m effing P!SSED. Anyone else have a...
Im at Trent Valley in Peterborough. It's been shaky so far... not looking forward to pick up tomorrow overly much. Very excited however to drive away
Thanks for the offer, however over the weekend I received word that she has finally arrived. I do believe that she is fresh off the assembly line in Alliston ON. Swung by over the weekend and visited her (shipping dirt and all)... I take possession tomorrow PM :)
