  1. ACUITY THROTTLE PEDAL SPACER -- Must have for anyone tracking their Civic X

I did not notice any difference, but your results may be different. :) The Acuity part is excellent and a must have, in my view. Note, I heel and toe all the time (street and track)on braking and downshifts. In fact, I plan on transferring it to my new Type R, when it arrives in the spring...
  2. Are the rear brake rotors on the Si (and other models) defective?

Yup, the original rotors are crap. Mine were replaced at 15K kms for free. The new ones seem to be better.
  3. Are the rear brake rotors on the Si (and other models) defective?

New rear brakes installed and everything is smooth again. I will make sure the pads are removed and lubricated twice per year, when I switch from summer wheels to winter and visa versa. It's an easy 10 minute job. As a comparison, my wife's Toyota Rav4 brakes are wearing perfectly on all four...
  4. Are the rear brake rotors on the Si (and other models) defective?

Yeah, it's odd, because my S2000 rear rotors are perfect and they have been thru six years of track abuse, to the point of turning blue from the heat. A set of stock pads would last about 2 track days, but the rotors are run true, with no run-out. So I know Honda can source good product.
  5. Are the rear brake rotors on the Si (and other models) defective?

Indeed the rear brake rotors are crap. The dealer is replacing my rotors and pads under warranty with only 16K kms, on the car, mostly highway driving. When I put my summer wheels on, I inspected the brake pads. The LH outer pad was almost down to the steel, and the inner was like new. The RH...
  6. How old are y’all

Hmmm, well I'm 66 and my first stick shift car was a '68 MGB, followed by a Mini Cooper, and a Triumph TR3. Short stint in a VW Super Beetle, then a '77 VW Rabbit. Then drove various BMWs for about 30 years, followed by a couple of Civic Sis and an S2000. I just sold the S2K and am looking for a...
  7. WTB - stock 2018 Si Coupe Exhaust - Ontario

Looking for a stock exhaust for my 2018 Si Coupe. In Guelph, Ontario. Thanks for looking!
  8. A fix for interior rattling / clicking noise near central dash (2018 Si Coupe)

Thanks for this. I get a buzzing sound from the dash, especially when cold. I'll try this out and report back.
  9. Oil Dilution and Transmission Type (1.5T)

I received a recall notice from Honda Canada today for my 2018 Civic Si Coupe. Titled: Product Update and Warranty Extension campaigns: Engine Oil Dilution. See pic. Will update once the work is done.
  10. New here and new to Si I have an issue :(

The new one could be a casting flaw, but it does look like a crack. Keep an eye on it and see if it starts to leak or if the crack propagates. The point of a crack is a point of infinite stress, so each time the part is fatigued, the crack will grow. I'll have a look at my Coupe tonite. Let us...
  11. All season Goodyears NOT a good rain tire

Yeah, they're not a great rain tire, but then they're not bad either. The front will push when cornering, but it's predictable and will hook up, even in the wet. However, having said that, they get worse the lower the temperature. We had rain and +6 deg C here this morning and depending on the...
  12. ACUITY THROTTLE PEDAL SPACER -- Must have for anyone tracking their Civic X

Sorry, only posted to another thread. The C position is excellent, at least for me. Now, I’d be 6 foot tall and about 155 lbs with a size 9 shoe, so your results may vary.
  13. Acuity Pedal relocation bracket

Yup, just reset to C and it’s excellent.
  14. ACUITY THROTTLE PEDAL SPACER -- Must have for anyone tracking their Civic X

OK, got my Acuity Pedal Spacer for the 2018 Civic Si Coupe. Super easy install, and I put it on the B setting. I'm trying to replicate the feel of my S2000 as closely as possible. Went for a drive and the B position was not the best, at least for me. Gonna change it to the C position after work...

  16. 2016 rear brakes worn out

Sorry to hear. I did the rears myself, just before I traded it in for a 2018 Civis Si. I suspect the Si, will have the same issue, so I'll be servicing the calipers before the winter tires go on.
  17. Si too quiet. Now what?

I had a look at my new Si last night and the exhaust system is perfectly designed and ready for the S2000 'UK mod'. That's what I did on my S2K, and it worked great.
  18. how rare are si coupes

I just leased a 2018 Si coupe and had no trouble finding one. The lease of my 2016 Civic LX was up and the deal on the 2018 Si was fantastic, so I couldn't help myself. I also have an S2000, but it's mostly a track car.
  19. 2016 rear brakes worn out

Seems to be a common issue for that year and model. I suspect they got a bad batch of rotors from their OEM supplier. Also, the rear brake design is stone-age. Usually, there's a stainless steel part which the pad slides on, just like the front brakes. The rears do not have that slider, so once...
  20. 2016 rear brakes worn out

I got mine from The Wrench Monkey - Raybestos Part # 982073 - $28.12 each. With HST and shipping $74.78. They fit perfectly.
