Do you have any idea what they did to sort the issue?
Sadly my dealer only does anything if it's on Honda's Technical Database of issues, and this clearly isn't on there.
The touch screen does scratch WAY too easily I agree, so does the gloss plastic around the gear stick, and the speedo...
You live and learn, I did inspect the car but from my previous experience with owning Honda's (where all the panels met nicely) I didn't notice these 'gaps' - I certainly didn't expect such a fundamental issue to be present. Honda have cut corners on this element of production clearly in my...
Seemingly my expectations are too high. These cars (and most) are indeed 'thrown together' and not engineered to the degree we would perhaps like to think when parting with our hard earnt $$$. Most probably don't notice or care about panel gaps, or even seemingly incurable sun roof rattles...
That's thread refers to the front bumper gap. This is in respect of the rear bumper gap - far larger than the front in some of the cases I've seen, including on my own Civic.
I've seen other Civic's around with this 'feature' that show the same gap (on both sides of the bumper join), unlike some other relatively wide gaps between panels on the car - this gap varies. It's wider at the top than at the bottom.
I've also seen a couple Civic's with no gap variation at...
My front bumper gaps are about equal. It’s the rear bumper panel gaps that are awful, they’re wider at the top than the bottom. Have noticed the same on other 10G Civics too.
What are the improvements to the "upgraded Display Audio system"?
The menu structure looks the same. The differences physically appear to be actual buttons rather than touch sensitive ones.
Does it mean the 'tablet' it's based on is much faster and removes the lag when navigating between...
I park as far away as possible so as others have said there’s either no or far less possibility of anyone dinging your car.
I have parked across two bays before. Others do not care about my property, so I do everything I can to care.
A ding costs money. A scrape requires a body shop to do a...
Thanks for this, makes me feel better. It was just 'perfect' before my prang so I really hope the bodyshop do a good job of it. I've had body shop work done before and have had mixed results. One took three attempts to get it right - 1st time paint match was too dark, 2nd time overspray was...
I shamefully did this to my Civic and the lamp post won by a large margin! Nobody hurt thankfully.
What are my hopes of the car ever being the same again? A local body shop that a Honda dealership use will be doing the repairs via my insurance company.
The drivers door doesn't meet anymore at...
I have only just noticed that where the trunk/boot lid meets the rear bumper the gap is not equal all the way along.
It looks like it curves upward from the bumper slightly from the left, and then back down toward the right.
In relation to trying to resolve this issue, does anyone have any instructions or guidance as to how to access the central air vent section, and also where is the blower/fan motor? It could be something stuck in one of the blades causing the noise - I'd like to take a look if possible.
I had the 'chirp/whistle' Honda rectification done to my Civic some months ago now.
I now have a different noise coming from the drivers side central air vent. If the blower is on 4+ fan speed there's what sounds like something flapping, or being blown inside the vent - maybe a plastic clip on...
Does anyone know how to get the vent/grill off of the central air vent in the CivicX?
When the fan is blowing at high speed, with or without aircon enabled, it sounds as if something is wobbling/rattling inside and I want to take a look.
Thanks.
Hi Saiko21,
Thanks for the advice. It's already been in twice. It's had the three big issues resolved - excessive drivers door wind noise, roof rattle and air con whistle, but the other niggles remain. I am fed up with waiting nearly a week at a time for issues to then not be resolved...
Okay so I've decided to attempt, if not too difficult, to try and iron out the buzzes and rattles that my 10G Civic continues to demonstrate on a daily basis.
Firstly I need to be able to remove the sun roof control/reading light panel as I suspect there is a cable vibrating in their. How can I...
This is definitely resolved by the replacement part being fitted (under warranty) by Honda as per the Service Bulletin. I had the exact same noise, and since my local Honda fitted this part it's been annoying-anger-inducing whistle free driving! :)
Thanks for the response.
Is this the rail where the plastic moon roof actually runs? It appears to have a nylon chord running through it (on both sides) too.
I am unable to easily get hold of Honda's White Grease (which is lithium based) in the UK. Would a spray-can lithium based grease be...
