If you like the MAP exhaust, I would consider a custom exhaust for a fraction of the cost. That's what I did. All they use is Vibrant ultra quiet resonators so it's pretty easy to mimic the sound.
Just wanted to share my custom exhaust setup with my fellow Si owners.
I didn't want to spend $800 for an exhaust, for a measly 5 whp, so I had my own made. I've used Vibrant's exhausts products on a lot of my Honda's in the past and have always loved them. My setup cost around $520 all said...
I don't think so, at least I didn't receive both.. But, i'm sure you can just email John and he will send you the other file, can't imagine it would be that big of a deal.
Oh yeah! All i've owned is Hondas since I was 16 haha! I just saw his latest video, and I think at the end he said the pure made about the same power as the gtx2860? But the top end of course is going to feel better.
Don't get me wrong, I love modding but this is my 2nd turbo'd Honda, and my...
Thanks! Right? I know alot of guys are just shy of 300, I think I saw drob post a few dyno graphs around 290 or so. I have a ridgeline too, but mainly daily the Honda because let's face it.. 40mpg vs 20mpg? It's a no brainer lol.
My only gripe about these cars is the turbo. This is my first...
Lmao I know how that goes! We just had a baby so she's all bossy about MY money ?.
I feel the same, if I can get to 300 whp I'd be okay, for a daily driver. Can't imagine going crazy and blowing the motor on a near brand new car ?
Oh for sure! I always find myself wanting more power. I'm waiting to jump on someone selling theirs, save some money and PRL is usually almost always on backorder. Probably here soon though, then wrap it up with some flex fuel and pray the clutch lasts ??.
Right. My car feels much better on the phearable tune as far as top end goes. The intercooler install was fairly easy on my friends car, the only trouble we had was the piping off the turbo to the intercooler was a little pain in the ass, but overall wasn't terrible.
I just finished a custom...
True, but it also doesn't hurt to future proof it if you're going for more power down the road. To each their own, on my si I literally felt little to no gains with full 3 inch. My top end doesn't choke as much but that's about it.
If you have 3 inch fp/dp then it only makes sense to finish off with 3" exhaust. I went the custom route and saved some money. Didn't feel like spending 800 bucks for 5 horsepower.
If you scroll back a bit I posted a clip of me revving a bit and 2 step.
Thermals have been alright, I don't notice any change that worries me. AFRs, short and long fuel trims all look good, along with knock.
According to John Vega, he said that as long as you don't abuse it you should be fine. I'm basically running the same setup as you, and i've been good. Have only really used it a few times, it sounds cool but the stock exhaust only does so much.
You won't regret it, i'm enjoying it a lot more...
