I traded my 10th gen for a 11 th Gen. Did not expect much of a difference but was pleasantly surprised.
What I like about the 11th:
Smoother engine
Less lag
Seems to have more usable midrange power
Steering and handling much improved
Aircon seems stronger
Driving Aids
Driver seat allot more...
Hi All....so problems was eventually solved.
Thought I would reply...to myself incase someone else has a similar problem in the future.
The car was pushing out a P0341 code that indicated a timing issue.
During cold starts the car would go into a protective mode reducing power and keeping revs...
Just an Update, seems like car not throwing any codes.
Dealer picked up the issue as well.
I actually think its more the CVT issue. The "cold start protection mode" stays on for some reason.
In the interim we found a PCV vacuum pipe that was replaced and I found a half broken Turbo solenoid...
Good day. I have been hoping we get the Hybrid in SA. Thus far I only know if the one engine derivative that the UK will use, 132Kw total power. Apparently faster than the 1.5 T.
Hi all. I have 1.5 Turbo 2016 with 140 000km. Now in winter I am noticing that
1) I have no CC unless I stop and start the car again or if I start later in the day. The "main" light works and speed limiter but no CC.
2) The car seems to hold revs up long, even after a 30min drive and Temps are...
I think your is more pronounced. I only occasionally feel it and it does affect driving so much. Maybe get your car checked. It could be other suspension parts.
Hi, I notice the same with mine. I only feel it when its Hot and AC is on. I think its just a quirk of this car. I had all suspension checked and all is good. It may be my front shocks as I have yet to replace them at 120 000 km. Not sure if shocks or mounting can directly affect steering.
I am Really hoping the new 11th Gen hybrid will be decent and available. I am also hoping the 11th gen CTR has 3 seats at the back. Otherwise the Hyundai I30N seems like a really good car to me.
I have also often wondered what "mode" is the best. If you read the manual, they suggest to allow the car to upshift by itself when in manual shift mode. When you leave it to upshift, it does "feel" faster but not sure what the actual timing is. A CVT is probably always going to be fastest in...
Hi. My first battery lasted 2 years. Second Battery 1 year and was replaced under warranty. Current Battery lasting. The first 2 Batteries both were completely drained due to leaving stereo/AC on in error for > 1 hour with engine off. I was told that that was the reason. My wife's Brio also had...
Hi all
Nice article. Nice objective reliability affirmation. Maybe someone here who speaks German can give more detail.

Note tuned:
I very rarely get to use all the power on our roads, and feel the stock power is pretty good. I am also OCD and would have sleepless nights knowing if something breaks, it wont be covered under warranty (5 years 200000km in SA).
I would really like a nice exhaust system though?
Wow, Reason why I was worried (but much less now) is that you hear horror stories of other Turbo cars breaking down. VW, Renault, BMW friends and family having major issues just after 60k. Heard that DCG are not so reliable and pricey to repair. It seems HONDA still focuses majorly on...
The AC issue is worrying. On my Prev 8th gen the compressor also died, clutch was faulty and made a noise. Perhaps the best thing is to replace both compressor and Condenser. Does running the A/C at low pressure not damage the compressor?
My dealer still cannot detect the leak, driving again...
Thank you all, this sets my mind at ease. I also don't think the 11gen will be a massive step up.
Hoping we at least get the Hatch. We have a strange market in South Africa, can buy a Lambo, Ferrari, Any BMW under the sun but limited middle market cars
