  1. Fun second car ? In addition to the FK8.

Great collection of cars man. I actually had a VW GTI 2010 to be exact and after doing some mods to it, along with a tune - it was such a fun car to drive. That car really turned me onto hatchbacks - it was practical, decent on gas and maintenance and it was just a lot of fun to drive. When I...
  2. Fun second car ? In addition to the FK8.

Hey OP, Iā€™d say once you have your ride PIF - enjoy not having a car payment for a bit. I know I typically do the same - buy a car - PIF in 3years and by year 5 I am in a new car with a new payment - but itā€™s part of being a car enthusiast. The silver lining to the stupid car market from 2020 to...
  3. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

Heā€™s pretty much telling everyone basically what we all already know: 1. Sales are tough 2. Sales are tougher in 2023 and basically since the pandemic 3. If you find MSRP - grab and run haha Regardless - car shopping right now, unless you NEED a car - just not really worth it at the moment. A...
  4. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

I've watched these guys before and they are interesting and bring up valid points. The thing is - we have all been dealing with the craziness of car prices for 3yrs now - I don't see us getting out of this anytime soon and they also elude to this in the beginning of the vid. I just feel that...
  5. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

What I found interesting was how it scored the same time as the TypeR on the track and still beat it in the drag. It's really wild to me that people are buying not only the ITS and the CTR at very high markups but other car enthusiast cars as well; but when you consider the interest rates being...
  6. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

Saw a YT vid by Smeedia today - a Subie influencer rocking a WRX - lowered and have to admit - it looked nice - even with all that plastic molding; so definitely agree - a viable option butā€¦.I just canā€™t do a Subie unless its a BRZ. Just not my choice of styling and donā€™t need AWD where I am at.
  7. Type R Owners: What's your annual income?

I think that last part is the most important - now days with so many outlets to entertainment and information - it always seems like we are being told 'buy buy buy' and pretty much every car I have owned has been a 'I'll keep it till the wheels fall off' - then something new and better comes out...
  8. Type R Owners: What's your annual income?

the one thing that the current market has done to me - is force me to keep my current ride. I still enjoy it - would I like a CTR - sure but the new one - when I look at the following: 1.my car is PIF - so if I got lets say for sake of argument - $30k for my trade-in (pipe dream haha) 2. and the...
  9. Type R Owners: What's your annual income?

As a friend told me once - its like digital rights management - can't pass that knowledge down to the youth - seems like a lot of us were or have been guilty of making bad decisions in our youth when it comes to money. I know I try to pass that knowledge to some of the 'kids' I work with making...
  10. Type R Owners: What's your annual income?

It's the whole 'rich vs wealth' argument? For while someone might be considered rich making a certain amount - but....if they spend as much if not more than then they bring home - with little to know investments for the future - they might be much worse off than someone who is making...
  11. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

I would imagine after having a LE and now a new FL5 - how would you compare the 2 as far as driving and the overall comfort of the LF5 to the FK8?
  12. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

Overall for those that own a FK8 - it most definitely doesn't make sense to change to a FL5 - the differences don't justify the switch but if you don't own a FK8 - since prices of used FK8s are still quite high - it might make more sense to get a BRAND NEW FL5 and pay the added ADM if it's only...
  13. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

Might have already been mentioned but SG did say he got it for MSRP on the CivicXI forum. And yeah, it makes sense - if you have a car enthusiast that actually picks your car over all the ones that they regularly test - and they have a huge audience - why not look to work out a MSRP deal since...
  14. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

I feel like your list of who DIDN'T add ADM would be better (shorter at least) since it seems like the CTR - pretty much everyone minus a few dealers were going with MSRP (at least from my experience and looking at this forum).
  15. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

From the banks perspective - the longer you take the pay - the more money they make - between the higher interest rates so the customer's interest is not in their interest. But I agree - I feel if you can't pay off the vehicle in 60mo - one should look at whether or not they can realistically...
  16. Possibly moving into a new platform

OP The Supra seems to be a great car that one can add a lot of HP to it reliably bc of the B58 engine. While the auto is faster than the manual - the only way I would consider a Supra is if it had a manual; something about rowing your own gears. If speed is all that matters bc ā€˜autos are fasterā€™...
  17. Official: 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Pricing: $42,895 šŸ’°

IF the FL5 posts a better time than the FK8 - then it will 'all the sudden' matter to the same people stating it doesn't matter. haha
  18. Official: 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Pricing: $42,895 šŸ’°

A huge part of the problem is that almost anyone that got a car during the pandemic - paid some sort of ADM in the form of ADM or forced packages being added to the car; so as a whole - we all got used to having to pay that ADM. Granted we would rationalize that ā€˜Iā€™m getting more for my trade-in...
  19. 2019 Type R w/odd roof paint/clear coat

OP, Just doing a quick search on cars.com - there are cars that are around your budget with clean car faxes - so again - i feel if you are patient - you can find what you are looking for a price that fits your budget - especially if you wiling to travel for it (which for a good deal I know I...
  20. 2019 Type R w/odd roof paint/clear coat

Like others have said - 'walk away'. The only thing I would add is that prices on ALL cars are going to start/continue to decrease so unless you were scoring a 'deal of a lifetime' and $37k is NOT it - give it another 6mo and I feel you'll be able to find some nice clean title CTRs for that price.
