  1. Front bumper cover, internal clips?

Have tried to push the part (lower) in but have not had anything click into place. May need to pull it to see what is going on. Aside from time removal does not seem to be a huge deal.
  2. Front bumper cover, internal clips?

2018 Si coupe (should make no difference). Notices there is a gap on one side of the front bumper cover, looks like an internal clip came off or similar. Question is if anyone has seen this and if there is any general advice before I simply pull the cover? Searching I did not see anything and...
  3. Why change the Si's shift knob?

Stock knob is ok but best one I have used is a BMW ZHP knob. Been thinking of adapting one as the mount is not threaded, would also need to change out shift pattern emblem as their 6 speed has R to left and up rather than right and down.
  4. Fuel Economy - What're you getting?

Si coupe with about 5500 mi total. Driving a mix with not much highway driving best tank 35.1mpg early tanks in winter about 31. Have seen 40+ on a relatively short highway trip driving in mid 70s. So fairly confident I could get mid 40s on longer highway trips, and could push it under 30 if...
  5. Air compressor

Bicycle pump is basically a waste of time on car tires unless you like pumping literally hundreds of strokes (volume is to small). For car tires get an electric compressor, any small one will do can get the small ones for about one to two hundreds dollars.
  6. HondaLink app still useless.

so got a message an update is available, updated and plugged my iPhone into the car via the cable. Screen on phone says it’s connected. Check the app after I get out of the car Everything is blank, two dashes. Total range, odometer, oil life, nothing on parking. Completely useless, since I...
  7. Need quick help

More descriptive thread subjects are a good thing, no one will know what your question is from the subject and are likly to moveon
  8. clear coat scratch repair - alt to just wet sand??

Well on that vein I have an old 2000 Mercedes silver I could practice on. Airbrush has its place but not really the same application. I just want to fill the scratch with clear then level. With no real replies I’m thinking of thinning maybe 5 or 10 to 1 and give it a try. Don’t want it...
  9. clear coat scratch repair - alt to just wet sand??

ok not a newbie to scratch repair etc, have a porter cable da and various pads polishes etc. the question is related to clear coat scratches. Search the web and lots of info on wet sanding out clear coat scratches. Seems to me you wind up removing an awful lot of clear coat to bring the...
  10. walk away lock feature - standard or optional?

It’s ther on an Si manual 2018. I turned it on tried it out then turned it back off as it seemed to me to promote a bad habit (for me since I have a bunch of cars that do not have this feature). Post above should have guided you to it
  11. Cabin filters

Ok maybe no one will know the answer but why has Honda proliferated multiple cabin filters that are the same size?? Needed to get cabin filters for my daughters HRV and wife’s CRV both take the same part number 80291-T5R-A01, bought one for my civic at the same time 80292-TBA-A11, they all...
  12. Be Aware - Honda recall: Oil dilution issue

Had this done on a CR-v adding filter was all of $7 I’m fine with that. They offered to replace engine air and cabin filters for around 80-100 (I forget exact amount) politely declined and ordered parts online. Waiting a bit more to do the Si as it only has about 1600 mi (80% life left per...
  13. Si Seats - how comfortable for larger/older drivers?

I’m about 6’1” around 215 currently, l really like the seats, as a counter point to some of the other comments I really dislike the seats in the other civics, headrest position is just terrible for me to the point I would not buy those cars. I happen to like sport seats that hold you in place...
  14. SO - What's the single WORST feature of your Civicx?

Old thread but this is mine; On coupe (Si) when accessing the back seats the front seats don’t return to their adjusted position, you have to adjust again every time, other car makers have had this figured out for decades.... Paul
  15. Averaging 24.7 mpg.....

You just don’t want to give it up do you??? I said it was ok to disagree but you seemed to need to justify your downshifting. I’ll agree appropriate downshifts can be fun but don’t kid yourself that they are the fastest way around a track or the appropriate way to slow the car. On a track you...
  16. Averaging 24.7 mpg.....

Guess we should agree to disagree. Anticipating a stop or upcoming turn your brakes will slow you MUCH faster than the engine ever will, select appropriate gear and go. But like I said if it makes you happy go for it. Paul
  17. Chipped paint - Scratch removal wax?

They are right you can’t buff out a chip that went through the color coat. Very minor scratches in clear coat can be buffed and then filled with wax or sealant since they don’t go through the color. If a real chip as has been stated get a tube of touch up paint from dealer, I have also had...
  18. Averaging 24.7 mpg.....

I’ll just follow your post with a nugget learned long ago driving Porsche’s. Brakes are far cheaper than clutches. If it makes you happy go for it, but brakes are far more powerful than the engine. Paul And I never suggested you put the car in neutral to coast down a mountain pass!
  19. spare tire for 2018 si

I find it funny peope justifying no spare as power to weight ratio.... in your regular driving you will never notice it. Should you bring your car to track or auto cross events do what everyone there does - remove it once there. If your that bent on power to weight ratios remove the rear...
  20. Averaging 24.7 mpg.....

I’m getting 31 with only a couple tank in at this point. More short trips, commute is only 6 mi but back roads. I don’t lug it but I’m not generally shifting at 6k either, defiantly step in it mergin pg on highway. Downshifting to slow while it can be fun is topically a waste when not racing...
