Not cracked that I can tell (yet; could still develop a hairline crack I suppose). I'm really hoping to just get a new hood, which would probably end up above my $1k deductible after installation and windshield repair. I just hope my insurance will cover that rather than only covering a repair...
My day's off to a great start. The car in front of me spat up a big ass rock, and put two +6 inch gouges/dents in the hood, plus a bunch of scrapes in the windshield, dead center in front of my vision. I kinda just wanna die right now. Any tips for dealing with insurance/repairs?
One more thing, where can I find a guide for the speaker wire colors? I'm talking about the colors at the harnesses that plug into the speakers themselves, not at the harness in the middle of the door or at the radio. The colors didn't match up at all with Crutchfield's guide (at this point I'm...
So that whole thing does come off. I thought I was only supposed to remove the speaker itself. Thanks a ton, with any luck I'll finish the install tonight!
Installed some 80mil Noico in the doors the Focal ISS 165 tweeters yesterday, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the woofers out. There don't seem to be any videos for the 10th gen either. Anyone have instructions on how to remove the front door woofers?
My first thought was to use Tasker, but a google search led me to this:
So it seems your issue is a security "feature", not a bug. In any case, it seems it won't be possible to automate it through Tasker unless you root your phone or buy AutoInput.
My parents got me these for my birthday! Can't wait to put them on, I'm gonna order the amp and sound dampener this week so I can install them next weekend.
I talked to Crutchfield about my plan, and they said that it's better to have the same tweeter material throughout the car so that they're voice-matched, which makes a lot of sense. So I'm going to get a set of components instead of the coaxials and tweeters.
The harshness of the treble depends largely on the material that the cone of the tweeter is made out of. Silk-dome tweeters are much softer sounding, while titanium/aluminum tweeters are harsher but more detailed.
I'm planning on getting coaxials with titanium tweeters for the lower speakers...
As long as you apply it properly, it looks fine, and there's nothing wrong with it if that's the look you're going for. I've watched a lot of DipYourCar's YouTube videos and their results are insane. The product has come a long way, but it's really just a matter of knowing how to use it.
