  1. Looking for a best tune

Custom tune is the best tune. Derek Robinson from IMW or John Vega from Phearable. Stick with one tuner because if you need a re-tune later it will be discounted.
  2. What type of MTF is everyone running?

Both Redline and Torco are used by HRC Honda Racing Corporation formerly known as HPD (Honda Performance Development). Use either with confidence. Amsoil is also really good stuff. I think it's a very similar formula to the Redline MTL. I'm sure Motul is just fine too, just really expensive.
  3. An important picture regarding BOVs

I think you are asking too much of these people.
  4. 1.5T Ktuner v2 stage 21psi + mishimoto air intake + downpipe and front pipe

If you aren't running a flex fuel set up then around 15% ethanol content is what you want to run to help with knock control. If your current fuel already has 10% ethanol then it will just take a gallon or two of E85 to get to around 15%. Even up to 20% is okay, but I wouldn't push it past that...
  5. *HELP* turbo? wastegate? injectors? datalog and videos included

If you want a second set of eyes or assistance in getting the front bumper off so you can check the intercooler piping I have a lot of tools and a set of ramps. I'm in the Bountiful/North Salt Lake area.
  6. Let's talk about the hatchback rod failures

I'm sure the performance mods contributed, but I feel like it failed mostly from having an oil cooler and not letting the oil warm up enough before going ham. I do not have an oil cooler anymore, but I also have a built TSP short block so I doubt I will ever have this issue again. I also make...
  7. Turbo Failure? High-Pitched Noise

Found it. Had to go back in my album a few years. It’s not quite as loud as it was in person but it’s a pretty unique sound.
  8. Turbo Failure? High-Pitched Noise

Looks like you already found the issue. However, just wanted to post my experience when I had a failing w1 turbo. It sounded more like R2-D2 from Star Wars screaming when it gets shot. Your video sounded more like a vacuum or boost leak which seems like that is what it turned out to be. I'll...
  9. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

DRob is the one who tuned my car during and after the R&D session so I imagine he has me tuned that way as well to run the accord injectors properly.
  10. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

Well you are also running larger cams with the oem fuel pump? I imagine that’s helping with power a bit. Just out of curiosity, were you getting a CEL that your fuel pressure was too high running at 210kp? I’m running an aem lpfp because of the current fuel pump recall. Decided I might as well...
  11. 1.5T A Very Strange Knock Control Issue ... Can the Experts Help?

Has this issue always been occurring or was it something that just came up recently after tuning? At this point all I can think that it could be is a knock sensor issue or an ecu issue. So replacing one or both of those is probably your next option. Good luck!
  12. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

I am running accord injectors currently. They were upgraded while helping a company do some r&d, but without a hpfp that flows more fuel I’m stuck where I am at. At the moment there doesn’t seem to be a fuel pump I can run that doesn’t require me to change my intake cam to run it properly. Are...
  13. 1.5T A Very Strange Knock Control Issue ... Can the Experts Help?

That is very strange behavior indeed. Have you reached out to the person who custom tuned your car for any insight and send them a run of logs? Running full bolt-ons, larger turbo and flex fuel is not recommended for a long life of the CVT so if I had to guess you have probably damaged your CVT...
  14. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

Ah, well they do run a pretty small shop, so that isn't surprising. I met a couple of them at a 27Won party a few years ago in Vegas. It was fun to talk to them in person. I've been running their short block for about 2 years now, with BC rods. It's been excellent! Although because of my fuel...
  15. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

Supposedly BC has better quality control and customer service than Saenz. However, I doubt you will ever be needing to use it. The people at TSP are great too. Give them a call if you have any questions or concerns.
  16. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

Glancing at their website I found this: ProH2K The BC ProH2K H-Beam design connecting rod incorporates every feature of the premier BC ProH625+ rod, only that the fasteners have been changed to the more economical, yet venerable ARP2000 bolt, rated to 220,000 p.s.i. The ProH2K standard weight...
  17. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

Where does BC show the power ratings for the L15B rods? Either way TSP rates the block as a whole to handle 600+ hp. You'll be just fine with the BC rods even if you end up going further than 400WHP in the future.
  18. Has anyone had BC rods fail on them?

I highly doubt anyone has had those rods fail. They are rated for power much higher than the L15 can even reasonably get to. Buy with confidence. Just curious, what are your power goals and are you just getting the rods or are you getting them with a built short block as well?
  19. Shutter when taking off

Had this happen occasionally on cold starts on cold days and it would go away after one or two starts from 1st. Recently replaced my clutch and flywheel with the type r clutch and rv6 retrofit and I haven't had this happen at all on cold days anymore. Had an exedy lightweight flywheel and...
