  1. Who's The Oldest Modder Here?

63 here. Always loved small cars. Mini's, Triumphs, Fiat 124 Spiders, Corvairs. Really enjoying my 2018 LX. OEM plus modded I think. Special to me. :-)
  2. Mods/Maintainance for Winter?

Some old school thoughts here. Dependent on how long you intend to keep the car. With the light oil our cars run, a block heater isn't a necessity, but if you're in Alaska worth doing. It's for those exceptionally cold days and makes a big difference in how fast the car starts and also, how...
  3. Steering wheel is not center after tire rotation

Gentlemen, the steering wheel sensor reset won't correct the steering wheel misalignment. adjusting the tie-rods will. There's a bunch of information on doing this, just take your time and make even adjustments - if you do 3 turns in on one side, then do 3 turns out on the other. If you also...
  4. Steering wheel is not center after tire rotation

Ron, perhaps the treadware difference from the rotation is making you notice this steering wise. I'd give it some time for the wear to even. Then if it's still off, you can easily adjust your tie-rod ends to bring it in spot on. Lots of history on how to do that on this site.
  5. Buy almost everything ACUITY civic 10TH

Have to jump into this one and echo the OP. I've got a CTR shifter with all of the other Acuity goodies and can't say enough about them. Quality.
  6. Hail damage :(

I've unfortunately experienced the same many years ago. That damage should not in any way be written off by the insurance company. A good shop can sort this and make it like new. Some pull outs, but they may need to fill and repaint the left over pieces they can't fully smooth. So roof, hood...
  7. Costco tire pricing

Not sure if this helps. But I just had Costco install Michelin Cross climate 2's. Stock LX size of 215-55R-16 for 833 CDN taxes in and the whole deal. They had a 200.00 off offer of which I partook. I had aftermarket alloys for them = they installed them too and did a great job. My...
  8. Modifications for turning Si into cornering monster.

Adding to the chorus on the value of a rear sway. Unity Performance recommended most highly. Went with a whiteline 22mm and their springs. Extremely happy with both. The rear sway helps with a level attitude but biggest benefit is such a precise and tight turn-in. If you're going all the way...
  9. 2.0L Mods?

Humza, you and your company were and are nothing other than fantastic. :) Very much enjoyed you and your team's passion and knowledge. It led me down the right path. Couldn't be happier. And right back at you and team Unity. :) Cheers.
  10. 2.0L Mods?

Fwiw, I intentionally bought a 2.0 for best chance at long life. Not saying the 1.5 can't provide it, but to me the simpler engine, no direct injection, turbo or such just makes the odds better. I have a humble 2.0 2018 sedan. Mods done for fun and to a sweet and affordable vehicle. I have...
  11. Bent Frame Help

Brett, the impact of that hit must have been pretty extreme. How low did you lower the car? This isn't a bent frame as so much as a majorly dented subframe. The big thing I'd want to have checked is that the subframe geometry is still good. The fact the car was aligned after is a...
  12. Is it worth it to put lowering springs on high mileage struts?

Osiris, all good. If you know what you're getting into then all good. :-) I wish I knew what the life cycle is on the SI struts as they are not cheap. But you know the deal and can make the best call for you. Dave
  13. Is it worth it to put lowering springs on high mileage struts?

If the car is a daily then you do not want coilovers. Not sure on the cost of new struts for an SI, but for any lesser models then definitely recommend changing them. You've got to do all the work anyways and better to do once than have to do again. Coilovers have a big cachet for the track...
  14. Car Wash in Winter

Team, one of the touchless car washes named was precisely the one that had huge water pressure causing trim damage. Salt is used, and also a sludgy component called a brine which they spray out when the threat of ice is afoot. It's a municipal and town liability, and also does definitely make...
  15. Car Wash in Winter

Winter washing in the NE or any areas that get it and the salt and ice is a challenge. First, try to find a good touchless wash. And be really careful as a lot of them are aggressive and can wreck trim, or other things as you go through. I have a lowly LX that I really enjoy, my local...
  16. What springs should I get for a 1-1.5 drop?

I'll definitely throw a huge vote in for whiteline. Not an inch drop, but 3/4. To me you won't be able to tell the 1/4 inch difference. The benefits of these are the mild drop, perfect for a daily driver and the ride is actually improved compared to stock. No issues at all with speedbumps...
  17. Lowering Civic - what is recommended?

Sharing on the thought of coilovers. You do NOT want these for a daily driver. And definitely not in northern climates with salt and such. If you want to lower the car then go with reasonable springs that can cope with the stock or premium aftermarket shocks out there. Coilovers require a...
  18. Help with Shock/ Strut

Just confirming if you've fully removed the bolt that secures the lower strut to the control arm. Also, be careful when you're close to removing it as the hub assembly will want to move and it's heavy. Careful as it's easy to tear your cv boots during this part. A rubber mallet well placed...
  19. Lowering Civic - what is recommended?

Team X, I'll add a vote for Whiteline springs. Lowest price, and you don't need the camber kit, which can be marginal with the Eibach's. Less drop though - 3/4 inch all around. The Eibach's drop a bit more for a lower back end stance, but may need the camber arms. Picked these up off Unity...
  20. Huge oil leakage.

Ghost, really sorry you've had to deal with this nonsense. A first option would be to direct your dealer to request the local Honda warranty lead to provide some response on this matter acknowledging the event in documented form. Your concern here is the car engine's integrity = which is...
