I admit to having some concern also. But then I remember the words of that legendary street racer, Chuck Berry:
Rain water blowing all under the hood,
I knew it was doing my motor good.
RunCool hood louvers stick on with bonding tape. This is going to help my engine better handle summer track sessions. It could be my imagination, but in local driving the coolant temp gauge sits a little lower. When I park I can certainly feel hot air flowing out of the vents. Maybe they should...
Same time of year on both cold and wet days days. I didn't mean to suggest the motor mount change caused the failure. It was long term wear just coming due.
I was so happy with the car's better performance, which suddenly came to a grinding halt. Fortunately, repairs are in progress. I'm glad I...
Hasport motor mounts that failed https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/melted-hasport-motor-mount-bushings.81779/#post-1229056 have been replaced. The car is faster on the track! The theory is that the vibration at high revs was causing the knock sensors to cut back power. The only power mod is...
My 2018 Si has Hasport motor mounts. They had U70A bushings. When replacing them with U62A, for less vibration, the old ones appeared melted. Not doing their job in any case. Needed to be replaced.
It looks like it gets too hot under the hood. I'm thinking of hood vents. Sometimes I don't bother...
For your use, go with the street Urethane. Nevertheless, expect more noise and vibration. Honda changed motor mount design sometime after 2018 model, I wonder if those fit a 2018?
Replacing rotors this weekend, using old hats. What should the rotor hat bolts be torqued to? Can anyone answer this weekend? 6mm bolts with blue locktite.
I have used position C on the track for several years with no problem after a revised rubber bumper and adhesive from Acuity. I assume that is what comes with the product now.
As an aside I just switched to position B and get better heel-toe control. And I have learned to be smoother on the...
Interesting. I never heard of "lift-off oversteer" but it happened to me on the track last week. Downhill: left, short straight, right. In the straight section I caught up to the car in front and had a sideways moment, just before the right turn. I must have lifted off the throttle at that...
