  1. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Pretty much this. Bought 2021 WRX (had 2019 WRX earlier then got 2021 Crosstrek - got bored, back to WRX). I tried Type R again but the least I could do around DFW was 5k over MSRP. I was actually looking to buy a 3-row SUV too but Honda dealers are beyond shady. My stomach just churns at the...
  2. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

The change is only in the tuning otherwise engine is the same. Shifting is lot smoother without the rev-hang. I also felt that they tightened the gear box a little. I have STI short throw shifter right now. the new one didn't have that and even then I could shift better. Overall livability is...
  3. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

They might. I know for sure Autonation Lewisville sold the Type R I was considering to someone on this forum at MSRP (this was over 2 years ago - Nov/Dec 2018). When I was in the dealership, they didn't come down. So I guess it really depends on how long it has been on the lot. I don't really...
  4. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Emailed - Lute Riley, David McDavid , Honda of Mckinney -- all of them had ADM. Even after 2 years, these dealers are not selling at MSRP. I figured things may have improved -but nope. At this point, no more Honda . No type-r, si, odyssey etc. Just can't deal with Honda dealers in Dallas...
  5. Window Tints

Any one have a recommendation for a dealer (DFW area) who can install window tints? I know I don't have a civic but I have a WRX, don't want some newbie messing up the stick or the car. Tint King in Frisco quoted $125 for front and about $350 for whole car. I don't know why it would cost more...
  6. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

    Was there a trade-in involved?
  7. Type R MSRP Increasing to $37,230

Wrong on so many levels. First of all - no one is "hating" on Type R. I am pretty sure everyone - inlcuding me and others who think Honda is making a mistake with price hikes - do like Type R for what it is and obviously its a better car than Si. Every one is talking about performance-price...
  8. Type R MSRP Increasing to $37,230

You just hi-fived a person who thinks a portfolio gain of 1.6% with at-risk money is good when the savings rate is 2.4% - no risk involved. Not only that investing in Honda is crappiest investment you could make -even if you invested at the bottom of 2008. Just saying. Back to basics, just...
  9. Type R MSRP Increasing to $37,230

I can't believe people think Type R is a bargain at $40-45k range. Its not. Obviously, its all market dynamics - but $40k for a front-wheel drive civic is not a bargain. Subaru has been churning out 300hp with turbo for ages, you can beat on it all you want about the age of engine etc. but they...
  10. OK this is my 2 only dislikes of our Si.

Fabric on arm-rest and seat covers is terrible. Compare that with 9th gen civic and you see where Honda tried to save money. I think I have complained about it in the past too.
  11. She is now paid off

Obviously, paying off is a personal choice. Financially though, if you have anything less than 2% just keep your money in an online savings account and don't pay off.
  12. CTR Dealership Nice List for Texas Area

My experience was similar. My patience gave out and didn't want to deal with Honda dealers. Got a WRX instead. I still want the type R and want to get it out of my system but it makes me cringe that I would have to walk in to these dealerships.
  13. CTR Dealership Nice List for Texas Area

The sticker on other cars have those add-ons but you don't end up paying for them. My friend just got an Accord sport 2.0T for 30k OTD and it has all the add-ons. Even in their e-pricing email, they list the add-ons and say "no extra charge". Those accessories are not worth 3-4k for sure. Its an...
  14. Honda quality sorely lacking

This. Yes, I don't own the 10gen civic but test drove couple of them and wanted to buy Si or Type R. Si interior cloth is terrible - much worse than the previous gen civic si I owned. I don't understand car manufacturers. Why go cheap on these things. i would guess it would have added may be...
  15. New to Forum: Million-Dollar Question

If you have been in Mazda camp, you will not be happy with the shifts in Si. I had 9th gen Si and no crunchiness. I test drove the Mazda 3 HB and shifts were buttery smooth even on a new car. Si had notchiness to it and clutch feel wasn't good either (although Mazda felt similar - so may not be...
  16. civic si pricing difference.

Either you are not at Type R power level or you don't have that extra $15k in pocket. You have to pick one.
  17. Former STI owners

Personally, if you are staying in Northeast I would prefer the STI or WRX over Type R. Anywhere in south, Type R is definitely a better buy than STI. I have 2019 WRX, its nothing like you said (except for body rattles - but everyone gives the response "hey its a subaru" *smh*). In fact Civic...
  18. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Lucky you! You at least received a response. I never did. I think you should start playing Powerball if you aren't already ;)
  19. I'll miss my CTR

You do know CTR is over 35k and is not a coupe. Also this is the CTR forum. Just saying.
  20. Corolla hatch vs Civic hatch

You can get the base Corolla HB with manual trans. for $19.5 OTD. That too I tried in december, better pricing should be available now.
