I know there's a lot of S2000 owners here on this forum.
Considering buying one of the newer versions that were made.
The major parts supplier in Canada that I know of is Toronto Honda Parts. They seem to sell S2000 parts that you can choose from fiches of the car's various modules.
Does...
I gave off my 2017 W.O.P. 1.5T Touring sedan to a relative and am moving on and buying another car.
It served magnificently. 40k miles and endured 3 of North America's harshest winters with aplomb. The only problems I encountered during ownership:
BCM had to be replaced because the proximity...
I have the 2017 Canadian 1.5T Touring sedan.
There's a Kenda spare donut in the trunk.
Label on the side of the door says spare tire cold pressure is 60 psi.
My pressure gauge says it's at 35 psi
Prominent text on side of spare donut wall says 60 psi max.
What's your spare donut's...
Side marker bulb on my 1.5T burnt out.
I took the bulb+housing out. See attached picture.
How do I remove the bulb from that housing/socket? Can it be removed? This sounds dumb, but I tried careful and gentle pulling out but that did not work.
According to a parts fiche from Toronto Honda...
Nuff said about the Civic
It is a great machine
The non sport models don't make the cut, but I put them up there with the Si because they're very similar cars:headbang:
My CT sedan has a block heater, which I have never used. Unfortunately the plug has been neglected, left hanging, and I think is almost useless and in need of replacement.
When it's cold outside the mpg takes a big hit on short drives. More like 20 mpg when its -10 degrees Celsius outside...
About 10k kms or so ago my CivicTouring Sedan's right rear strut "blew its seal" or so the independent mechanic who did an oil change described it. And so over bumps the car would make a thumping sound.
Took it to the local Honda dealership to get it fixed under warranty. Thumping sound...
The little light reflector strip that is above the front wheel well on North American CivicX's..... the right side burnt out on mine. I did not know these things actually lit up until I noticed that the left one was actually lit up when someone took my car out for a ride.
Is this supposed to be...
Do any of the Touring Sedan models brake wheels on the inside of a turn to achieve turning greatness? i.e. Agile Handling Assist???
I don't know the trims very well, but anyone know if the Canadian Touring model came with this...
Here in the Canadian market, my 2017 Civic 1.5L Touring sedan with 55k kms, is valued at around C$23.5k (this is what a well-maintained one seems to fetch).
MSRP on it was about C$29k 2 years ago.
Depreciation comes out to $2750 a year with 27.5k kms each year.
Not bad if you ask me...
The warranty on my Canadian 1.5L Touring sedan is about to expire in a couple thousand kms.
I'm thinking of trading it in for something at one of the local Honda dealers.
I do 80% highway driving with my Touring, 2.5 hr stretches twice a week.
I can live with the MPG loss and comforts like...
This is not yet another oil dilution thread......
My MM is at 30% oil life left now.
When I pulled out the dipstick, the oil was almost up to the top of the orange tab. This I expected because the lube express mechanic slightly overfilled at the last oil change.
I see that there are long oil...
Anyone notice that on the sedan at least, small grit like particles easily get imbedded on the side skirts and the lower part of the doors where it's angled towards the ground.
They usually don't go off with a good pressure washer like the ones you find at car washes.
And I prefer not to use...
In Western Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba), there is a local engine oil producer called BOSS Lubricants. I'd never heard of them before. I only came across them after googling for bulk oil suppliers.
I gather they are a Canadian oil distiller and supply to privately labelled brands.
I...
My base warranty on the 1.5L is going to expire after the winter. KTuner is tempting. Does KTuner allow changing any fine grained settings that would help boost highway MPG? I do about 80% highway driving at the speed limit of 110 kmph. Even a bump of 5 mpg (optimistic I know) would make the...
Because I do a lot of highway driving, the windshield meets hard, particulate debris made airborne by semi trailers. As a result it's become pitted all over. 50k kms almost now.
The pits are miniscule and invisible most of the time. But I'm afraid they can become irritating the next summer when...
I threw in a new OEM air filter at the last oil change 5k kms ago.
I've been checking it every 2 weeks out of curiousity.
The filter is rectangular.
Been noticing that one half of the rectangle catches significantly more bad stuff than the other half. There's a gradient actually. Sorry I...
The HU is just a locked down Android tablet. I haven't tried rooting it like others have. Wondering if anyone knows if jacking the HU can give access to vehicle data like speed and tach. Do any of the tuner apps from professional kit developers show this kind of data on the HU?
Anyone from Canada have recommendations for the harsh winters here? I never really put much thought into the wipers on my 8th gen. OEM ones lasted through 100k kms until it got traded in.
The rubber lining on the CivicX sadly seems to have gotten degraded due to exorbitant use of RainX on the...
I have half a small tube of Permatex brake lube left from dirt bike maintenance. Tire rotations are coming up soon and I thought it would be a great time to lube the right parts.
I believe the front brake pads will come off without any special tools so their piston facing sides can be lubed.
I...
