I’ve had this issue before with the stock battery going out, replaced it and it was fine for a couple of years, and I’ve had this issue intermittently with a rich fuel code only while it sits and idles and it’s hot outside, never figured out the problem and the car drives and performs fine and...
I can't make a connection to the fuel either, that's just the code I got. From checking around the area that was hit, I can't see any loose wires or wiring harnesses that look out of place. A previous comment suggested it could be the fan kicking on but the fans don't kick on when the lights...
Quick update: I’m now confident that it’s not the sam’s club gas, I filled up with my 2nd tank of Mobil and stopped at a Culver’s for lunch and sure enough the lights came on while I was ordering.
I checked all the wiring harnesses I could see on the driver’s side where it was hit and compared...
It tends to happen most frequently when I’ve been driving for some time and then sit and idle, 9 times out of 10 it’s in a McDonald’s drive-thru or something. A couple of minutes after it’s been idling, it happens just like the video posted above where it will flash all the systems that are shut...
No exhaust leak, it runs quiet and smooth. The dealership I went to has proven to not be a good one, but it’s the only one for 30 miles. You mentioned excessive air, do you think it could be the air filter? I replaced it with a purolator at some point around when it started to happen, could have...
Oof, that opens up more questions than answers, it does throw a CEL for running rich but it’s never been tuned, has no aftermarket parts, and it runs fine.
I really don’t think it’s the fuel either, it’s just the only correlation I can draw right now. As far as I understand it all gas comes from the same refinery but they receive different additive packages during transportation depending on the end customer or something like that. The gas I was...
I have tried this trick but unfortunately it didn't work for me, the only way I've found to make it go away is to either just wait and it goes away on its own eventually or disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes and reconnect to re-initialize.
I'll have to check those harnesses once I get it back it's getting some new tires put on right now. Here's a picture of mine after my accident, is that about where you got hit too?
Would an electrical problem like that translate into a fuel running rich issue? I would think they would have to be operating on different circuits, has someone had something like this before?
It’s not a dealbreaker for me I’m keeping the car with or without the problem, it’s just annoying enough to make me want to find a permanent fix for it. I also now have new spark plugs from the 100K mile service and my injectors tested good so I’m in the same boat.
This is the list I referenced when checking, Costco is on there in many different subsidiaries but Sam’s club isn’t on the list. Unfortunately there isn’t a Costco near me or I’d go that route.
Unfortunately it's not in the notes, just says "chkd vehicle over and got DTC for system running rich. Chkd fuel system over, complete fuel pressure tests, complete diag steps and steps wanted to start replacing items with known good items, drain fuel tank and add fresh fuel. There are too many...
To add to this, the dealer told me one of the possible causes could be bad gas and they offered to drop the gas tank and empty it and refill it with fresh fuel, that got me thinking about what gas I'm putting in there. I did a little bit of research and found that Honda recommends top tier fuel...
Yes, I got clipped by an Explorer in the front left and had to have the bumper, fender, SRS control unit, and driver airbag replaced, but that was in 2020. Honda repainted the driver side door because of a rust spot under warranty in 2019.
Edit: Actually the accident was in 2021, could be...
I've been fighting a gremlin for about a year now where intermittently all my warning lights will come on and christmas tree while the car is idling after driving it for a while, usually in a drive-thru, when I had this issue before it turned out to be low voltage from a bad battery, so I've...
It's not about the wires, of course they're cut to specific length. They mangled the insulation around it, looks like they put it in at 4:55 PM on a Friday or something.
