Wow, almost a year since I started this thread. Time for an update.
Sold the Mercury Silver TEs. They were nice, OG/SLs are classic, but I couldn't get over the finish. I loved the color, but Mercury Silver is shiny and reflective. Not what I was after.
Ordered this set in the same exact spec...
I didn't realize the Infinity speakers required an amp. Is there a different set of door speakers and tweeters that I could just plug and play on my Type R with stock amp that would be an upgrade? Just trying to keep it simple. Gonna go with the powered spare tire subwoofer wired into the stock...
Could I plug and play install on my Type R the door speakers and tweeters without using the crossovers? I know the tweeters need an additional harness like the center speaker, but I believe the door speakers shouldn't. I just don't want the added complexity of mounting/wiring the Infinity...
Did the tweeters fit into the sails without issue?
Would Infinity Reference be a good choice for door speakers and tweeters (https://a.co/d/av2AzoO) and center speaker (https://a.co/d/2q1rTmi)?
I replaced the stock outer mufflers on my Type R with TotalFlow 9943B mufflers. Definitely louder but still mellow in comparison to other exhausts. Took a bit to "break in" after which the tone refined a bit (I didn't even know this was a thing, but it was noticeable) but there was never any...
Yeah I'm not the guy that said it's mentioned in every manual I've seen. Not saying it's an issue, just sharing information for the question you asked.
Think it's because of the differential. Might be more of an issue on LSD equipped cars, I'm not sure. If you get a flat front, you're supposed to move a good rear then replace the rear with the spare, I think.
Damn that sucks... Guess that fitment needs coilovers? I'm at about -3.5 now. Max negative ball joints, max positive top hats with Wunderladen locks, 18x10 +40 285/35 Accelera 651 Sport. Bent the front fender tabs, shaved plastic rears.
Wait wouldn't it be better to have the top hats at max negative and then middle position on the ball joints then? To minimize scrub radius change. I actually just set my top hats to stock/max positive position and still have my ball joints at max negative. Getting an alignment this afternoon...
