I bought a Acura in 97 and often thought I could have saved money just buying the Accord that it was based on. However, if you are going to keep the car for years and years like I did, it might be worth the extra money just for the different body style.
same thing happened to my 97 Acura 2.2 CL. The oil filter wasn't threaded on correctly and was dripping. Luckily my brother saw the leak on his driveway and I caught it in time. There's a bunch of idiots out there working on our cars.
I don't see why corporate Honda of Canada cannot extend a warranty on a car themselves. It is not the individual dealerships that pay for warranty work. The warranty belongs to Honda and can be used at any dealership.
Most of the 2.0 engines sold in 2015 and early 2016 had to have the oil pan dropped and engine scoped because of a misaligned piston-ring issue. Most scopes turned up no issue; however, I was wondering if anyone is having any sort of problem or has heard of any problems with the reinstallation...
my 97 Acura 2.2 CL. Bullet proof reliability and 355,000 miles on it. Still a daily driver with a 60 mile daily commute. the 2.2 CL is pretty much the same as the 96 Accord.
use the maintenance minder, when it gets to 15% go in for the recommended service. The mm may take into account miles and aggressive driving; however, it also takes into account slow freeway stop-and-go driving too since many of my miles are accumulated in traffic jams and the mm has notified...
My MM says 15% usually between every 4 to 5 thousand miles. I spend a lot of time in slow freeway traffic. I was also wondering if the amount of time the engine is running is a factor.
Check out the thread "Service Advisor's opinion" and there's some guy (he looks like a service advisor) who claims advisors and dealers are completely honest and would not charge such prices, and do not rip people off LOL LOL
