I spend about 10 seconds total on the infotainment, including adjusting the climate control. Turn things on, occasional adjustment, pay attention to driving. Least of my problems with the car or life.
I used to see someone daily'ing an Exige over a stop and go mountain highway (CA 17 from Santa Cruz to Silicon Valley). It's all in what you want to do with your car and how much you love it.
but, but, but, it creates drag and makes the car both slower and less fuel efficient.
Love it, sometimes you just need more space, even with our huge trunks
Again, good points. Well thought out. My Z4 allowed me, in sport mode, to run the car right up to red line and then shift, but yes, it hated downshifting at high RPM which saved me from money shifting. An intelligent, albeit old, transmission and software that allowed me to drive in a...
Max, good points, and I'd like to know about the requirements of street driving that require a higher level of control that the clutch gives. Maybe there is something that I'm overlooking.
I've known a lot of drivers that thought they were hard core because they can drive a stick. I've...
Everyone talks about the manual connecting you to the car. Most modern sporty or better cars tend to have a manual mode with their autos. I had a 2003 Z4 with their steptronic transmission. I ran that thing in manual/sport mode all the time. Loved it. But on days when I had to creep up a...
Some will refrain from constantly flashing every time you hit the brakes in stop and go traffic. Will this be the same or will it flash with every press of the pedal?
I have the same exhaust without the disco tips and the stock resonator. I think mine might be a little deeper sounding. Not sure about comparative volume
I once changed my oil in my 69 Mustang. I left the collection pan underneath, refilled, then fired up the engine and blew used oil everywhere...
My biggest peeve is getting the old oil into a container to take to O'Reilly's for recycle/disposal
I see all types, young, old, male, female. Oddest I've seen was a tatt'd up cholo lookin guy. He actually waved, none of the others even gave a second glance. I'm not fast, but I auto-x mine and am getting better since I added an Eibach rear bar.
I drove to auto-x and pulled in at 40 mpg despite running between 70 and 80 for the 90 mile drive. I was at 32 after 5 runs and only got back up to 36 on the way home (this is indicated obviously). Drove to work for a week after that and was at 33 per math and Fuelly)
the car looks great and I really like the wing (I also like STis), but I have to wonder how much of that is the color. I think you could paint a pig that color and mount it on the roof and it would still look good.
I'll give that a "big fat hairy deal" plus, I dropped 32 pounds by changing wheels, which could have been done on a hatch. I should have gone hatch and just added a tune and some decent coil overs as the Si suspension isn't that great.
I find it funny that at 50, you want something a little more comfy and stodgy (still a car i'd buy too). I'm 6 years older and have 13k on the Si driving daily in 680/280 traffic. Manual doesn't bother me as our traffic moves for the most part. I drove my wife's new Passport on Friday and it...
I’m assuming that the guys that people taking pics of their cars are in coupes. My sedan (maybe it’s the dark grey color) gets zero attention aside from “that sounds pretty good for a civic”.
