One of the reasons I was a bit hesitant to buy this color. In the end since I couldn't find a cosmic blue in Canada and wanted something other than grey that I had bought for my 2 previous cars, I bought the BNP. If it was a shade lighter where you could actually see the color when viewing it...
My 2 previous cars were Mazdas (Protege and Mazda 3) but this time I bought the Civic. I've always driven a manual and if all things were equal I would pick the Mazda again. The Mazdas just handle and drive better than anything in it's class. The Mazda sticks short smooth throws are sports car...
Depends, do the dealer's alloys look better compared to what you can buy outside. I am actually considering buying third party alloys from the dealer. Would have already bought them if they actually had them when I gave my deposit. They only had black alloys originally which I hated. When I...
Picked up my Civic a few hours ago. I asked about the recall just to make sure and the dealer said mine wasn't on the list. Looking through a bunch of Canadian VIN and it look like everything higher than 11500 is good for now.
If they knew there was a problem that prompted a process change on January 8, it would be inexcusable to install an uninspected engine, assembled before January 8, into a car, after January 8.
Hopefully based on their process change adopted January 8th, cars shipped after that date are good to go. But by the sounds of this, their line workers couldn't repair a defective piston assembly satisfactorily. So are they going to have the dealers try to fix the piston assembly on defective...
That's consistent with the early January time frame someone mentioned in this thread and VIN ranges I checked out on a dealer website. Hopefully everything over 11000 is good
Checked out a bunch of VINs on a dealer website. Every 2L engine ending in 8999 or lower had the recall. They didn't have any from 9000-10999 but they did have a few that ended in the 11000. None above 11000 had the recall
Unfortunately I don't think there is any 100% way to know unless you wait.
I am getting my car next Monday and when I checked the VIN on the Honda site nothing came up, but I haven't seen any Canadian VINs on this site on the recall list and we all know there are a few thousand. I suspect the...
Clutch was the only thing I wasn't crazy about on the Civic but after a few hundred hours of driving it, I will probably not even notice. Great looking car with a lot of standard features in the Canadian LX version. Only things I wanted that weren't included was LED headlights and alloy wheels...
Who said an inspection is rebuilding an engine?
At the time I saw the dealer he never said anything about a recall, which doesn't inspire confidence in me that he will be upfront. Since I wasn't aware of the issue at the time there was no reason for me to ask about it. And when we talked about...
I'm in that boat right now. I put the down payment on an LX and am scheduled to receive it in 2 weeks. If it was torn down and rebuilt I don't want it because I don't consider it new anymore. That's the rub, can they actually sell a rebuilt engine as new? When I saw the dealer a week ago (before...
I only had a short test drive with the LX so take it for what its worth. I did enjoy driving it much more than the Sentra and the Jetta 1.4 L turbo I was considering. I liked the Civic stick much better than the Jetta. The Civic stick felt better than the Sentra as well. Acceleration seem...
Not happy to hear this. Is your VIN on the list? It would seem to be irresponsible to give you a car that might have a defect just because you technically bought it before the stop sale order.
I put a deposit down on Jan 29 and asked for delivery a couple of weeks later. I will definitely have...
I signed and put a down payment on a 2016 Civic LX on January 29 and I am wondering about this myself. Since I was buying it cash outright I said I needed a couple of weeks to make the payment and set a delivery date a couple of weeks from then. The dealer never mentioned anything about a stop...
