So I just emailed Lee Grimes at Koni about shocks for our car. And then he responds within minutes with this....
"Hi Van,
Your timing is impeccable because not more than 10 minutes ago I got confirmation from Holland that finally the Prototypes for the 10G Civic are shipping out from Holland...
Wheels/tires/alignment/bar and you will have a great car for HStreet. If you want to think outside the box and try and take it to the next level then figure out an upgrade on shocks and test out a front bar. :)
Been a bit quiet here. What's everyone doing for tires this season? I'm going to try and kill my re71r's for the first few locals and then get something that will hopefully still be good by the time nationals rolls around.
I hit 3rd gear and held it full throttle for 5 seconds on both of our last 2 courses. I don't have data acquisition so I'm not sure where I was in terms of MPH though.
You looked good in my corner (3) on the left course. I could visually tell you and Ron were a tick faster than Todd. I literally bought and mounted my wheels and tires Friday afternoon at the event and it made me feel good to see that you and Ron had the same wheel/tire setup that I went with as...
Just got an alignment. Driving out to Topeka for the pro today and getting wheels/tires mounted out there hopefully in time for practice starts tomorrow. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. And then to try and figure things out while going up against 3 of the top 6 finishers at nationals...
Haha for sure. I'm watching the GS and HS battle at the Charlotte Pro right now and it's pretty crazy. Top 2 in HS are on yokos. Top GS cars are all Si's and all on Bridgestones. The HS cars are putting down 2.1 and 2.0 sec 60 fts!
The new RT660's are way better than the RT615's. Possibly top-tier but probably more so on cars with a good camber profile. I liked the RT215's back in the day as well but that was running God's Chariot in STS.
So what's the general consensus on tires for this season? I'm going to be using 17's. I'm trying not to get cornered into the Bridgestones as I don't like how they break away without any notice. I wish BFG made a 245/45/17 and the 255's are like Hoosier money! Yoks I guess would hate being on...
