  1. Wisconsin FK8 Type-r and Si parts

Where about in WI are you located?
  2. 10th gen CIVIC SI - What did you pay?

If you can find one for MSRP then go for it and be happy. I'm very sorry that the dealerships around here are so greedy. I moved back to WI from Los Angeles and had nothing but wonderful experiences in the LA area. The dealerships would be honest and helpful and didn't treat you like a...
  3. 10th gen CIVIC SI - What did you pay?

It was $25.5k including destination which usually ends up being $26.1k normally. Just go to their site and request a price. It was the best I could do and at this point that is fine by me since my time is worth more than the few bucks I saved and I am just glad my complete crap show of a...
  4. 10th gen CIVIC SI - What did you pay?

I just spent 2 weeks of my life trying to get under MSRP in the Milwaukee/Chicago area and they will not budge. The internet price they gave me was great then when I went in there they all want over MSRP for the Si. They are treating them like they are a mythic unicorn.... I'm like dude its...
  5. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

I did read the post but I still think you are missing the point about what the OP meant... just replace the word "cheap" with "affordable" if that makes you sleep at night.
  6. Recommended pads/rotors replacements

I didn't buy the DS2500 on this car but you can find them as they are the same pads as a 2015-2017 STI with the 4 piston. So just look them up for one of those and you can find them pretty much anywhere that sells the DS2500s.
  7. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

Not sure anyone was saying that they were shopping for "cheaply made" brakes. It just doesn't make sense to spend 800 bucks on front 2 piece rotors if you are not driving as hard as some others....
  8. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Oh man thats awesome! Did you happen to post those UOAs that I missed somewhere?
  9. Recommended pads/rotors replacements

I think the stock pads are pretty decent and cheap enough for doing the street driving and occasional track day. Someone mentioned somewhere else on the forum that the stock ones are equivalent to the DS2500 from Ferodo which I agree with having the DS2500s on my other car.
  10. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Awesome post and well said!! I have some Red Line 0w-20 on the way which I will put in and have a few track days coming up. I will post a UOA of the Red Line run and we can see how it holds up in a few months from now.
  11. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I'm sure its fine but the only real way to know is get an oil analysis done to make certain. The racing oils have a lot less detergents in them than normal oils. If you are just doing mostly street driving you'd be better off getting something like Mobil 1 EP or Pennzoil Platinum paired with...
  12. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

The 300V is an ester based oil which is less prone to breaking down with high stress/heat situations such as being on the track. You can daily drive with it but don't expect to run 10k oil changes, more like change it every few track events type of oil. The Eco-lite is more of a traditional...
  13. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I think as far as the 0w-20 goes, the Motul 300v is a much more robust oil that doesn't thin out like most resource conserving oils such as off the shelf oils which are designed to do just that. That being said if you run a robust ester based oil like Redline or Motul 300v, 0w-20 should be...
  14. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

Well Jason, you are correct on all fronts. Ken from KNS got back to me and verified what you said so he will be correcting the site.
  15. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

Wow that stinks, good to know. How did you get the PN from KNS? Edit: Ken just got back to me and you are also correct, they only offer the drilled rotors at this time. He said he will be fixing it up on the site.
  16. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

Ya I'm with you, its a new thing for Honda so not a lot of info out there. I emailed them and will follow up on this thread when I get confirmation from them. But either way there are some good options from Centric/Stoptech that are cheap so that is something at least. Including blanks that...
  17. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

KNS brakes wouldn't put them on their site if they didn't fit. They usually do the research ahead of time before they put anything up. I'll email them to follow up but I am 99% confident that this is correct.
  18. Cheap Slotted (not drilled) front rotors for the FK8??

If you go here: https://knsbrakes.com/c/car-items/4517_2018+Honda+Civic+Type+R/_/5_Brake+Rotors there are a whole assortment of good cheap rotors.
  19. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

@Gansan awesome thanks for that review! I will hopefully be bringing my Type R out when I get a few more miles on it, currently at 350. You mentioned that you had stock everything but the oil, which oil did you end up with? I would like to change my fluids before my first track day just...
  20. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

You can easily get black ones all day long since no one seems to be buying them. In fact the dealer I went to tried to sell me a black one they were getting in, in a few weeks. Keys Woodland Hills Honda, give them a call if you are willing to come up to LA area.
