Mine just started doing this as well on 2018 Civic Si - Android Auto turn by turn display takes over the instrument cluster display, and pressing the "i" button on the steering wheel used to get rid of it, now it just pops back up & can't use any of the other functions without cancelling navigation.

How did you end up mounting it, did you just drill into the stock pedal?

Unless you can measure it sitting in the car, it probably won't make much of a difference as long as it's in spec.
