So have had the EX for about <2 months, mostly weekend driving and just passed the 600 mile mark this past weekend. The alert for low tire pressure came on and so I stopped by a gas station to double check the pressure and to make sure there were no flats/nails. Pressure on all 4 tires came...
Between the wife and I, we ultimately decided we didn't NEED the turbo engine, so it was an easy pick to go with EX over LX (and opted for the sensing package too just for the extra peace of mind). Had we decided to go with a turbo engine, it would've been a EX-T or Touring (most likely...

This is one of many reviews that says so, but i think most people have unanimously agreed that the EX trim is probably the best bang for the buck on the 2016 civic.
In my opinion, you need to primarily figure out if you want the turbo engine...
@eygraber Also from NYC here. Averaging only 19-21 mpg from odometer 0.
- Only about 300 miles broken in (mostly a weekend car)
- tons of stop and go, probably driving in city conditions about 85% of the time
- not heavy footed at all.
Guess we're in the same camp
@CosmicSilver absolutely! I've thought of using them even as footwell lighting but because it's motion-sensored, that wouldn't work well. But yes, for the glovebox and for the trunk, this light can be a great alternative for any car really.
I dunno how to do any of that wiring stuff, so I kept it to this simple battery powered solution:

It's a motion sensored LED light strip...
@hluu93 Did you happen to also only get 8 bulbs instead of the advertised 10?
Btw, the tool to pop out the covers is way too soft and I found that using a flathead screwdriver was significantly easier.
Thanks namtil101!
First car was silver, replaced with crystal pearl black. I wasn't super picky on colors since I couldn't get the cosmic blue (out of stock everywhere here). Both cars started with about only 5 miles. Black definitey looks super polished/classy when completely clean but after...
UPDATE: After rounds of hostile back and forth with the dealership and having spoken to 2 attorneys (was ready to issue a formal letter to the dealership), the dealership finally admitted fault! I was offered another new 2016 civic vehicle (same trim, different color, but VIN# was NOT...
@CdnColin @aaronarf
Where exactly is the sensor on the self dimming mirror? How far away does the dashcam need to be away from the sensors so that it's not even partially blocking the sensors at all? Thanks!
@My2016Civic , I understand your optimism and in wanting to give Honda the chance to deal with this. That's fair.
But IMO you should really get your VIN checked. Ignorance is not bliss. Knowledge is power (no matter how unsettling it is). With that said, I sincerely hope your VIN is not under...
If you had a Y next to a vin number, then you wouldn't sell it to a customer right? My vehicle was under recall so in their system it should have also had a Y next to my vin number in their system. But that vehicle was still sold to me, so yes I am still putting the blame 110% on the dealer. To...
I understand what you mean, but in my specific case, the dealer was given a stop sale and still illegally sold me a vehicle 2 days afterwards. Therefore, that is either fraud (if they sold it knowingly) or negligence (if they didn't bother checking which vehicles were recalled).
Unfortunately, I have had various Honda representatives run and confirm that my VIN # is in fact under recall. If the dealer knew and still willfully sold it to me, then they're toast. Even if the dealer didn't know, it's negligence on their part to not double check their inventory.
That's great news that your VIN# wasn't affected! I have a EX w/ sensing and now feel paranoid for driving the car because even if it's not an immediate problem, I don't want the cylinders to be further accumulate damage by the misseated or missing clip.
If the dealer knew and still sold it to...
Mannyp93, i ran the VIN# with a Honda rep on the phone and they confirmed my vehicle was in fact part of the recall. Therefore, it is absolutely negligence or fraud on the dealership's part to still sell it to me. Did you also purchase after 1/30?
Personally, i would avoid driving the car for now because we don't know what kind of cumulative damage is being inflicted upon the cylinder by the missing or mis-seated piston clip. As for the VIN#, even if it shows there are no recalls on your vehicle on the website, I would still call Honda...
