  1. Windshield Replacement

TypeR is essentialy a Civic Hatch, in terms of body shell. To be able to cleanly remove the windshield one needs to first disassemble the interior A pilars covers (plastic) which takes 5 minutes at most for both of them (one screw and a few plastic tabs). Just the plastic covers, nothing else...
  2. Turbo extremely Hot???

Since you have exhaust gases at probably 500-600 degrees Celsius (900-1100 F) going through it, how cold would you like the turbocharger to be?
  3. Headlights always in auto?

It’s the same as on the EU civics. Mine, a 2018 one, has the same behavior, the stalk defaults to Auto. Probably it’s a safety feature to prevent the headlights being forgotten on OFF. I don’t know the exact behaviour because I’ve always let them on Auto since I have the car, only played with it...
  4. Active suspension

Sorry for resurrecting this topic, also Euro Sport+ owner here. Indeed, steering is unaffected by the activation of Dynamic mode but in more occasions I have noticed a slight increase in throttle sensitivity with Dynamic on vs off. The only relevant way i could feel the difference was when...
  5. Any ideas? Cyclic "Purr" accompanying Direct Injection ticking

The ticking is clearly the injectors working. Direct injection system is loud, both the high pressure pump and the injectors, as the sistem works as a much higher pressure (~200 bar).
  6. OBDII Scanner reading misfires

Does the check engine illuminate? If it's not maybe the scanner is faulty? Missfires are picked up by the car's ECU as soon as they occur and check engine lights up.
  7. DRL off switch

Less sunshine does not equal darkness / murky or whatever. :) So your assumption that we are living in darkness is hilarious..something like “there be dragons”. In the northern countries where the days are really short in winter the people rely on headlights, not DRLs. The true reasons for this...
  8. DRL off switch

Reading some posts on this thread I cannot help noticing that some think that Europe is mainly a dark place where there is light only a few hours a day :). LOL
  9. DRL off switch

The scope of DRL’s is not to make the car look better or worse, it is to be more visible during the daytime for other drivers. In EU, for example, it is mandatory for several years now that new cars should have DRLs which cannot be turned off. It’s like saying that you want to drive with the...
  10. 2020 Civic Sport Line/Euro market

Not sure I get that, spoiler on top of another spoiler...
  11. DRL off switch

Are you sure? Because I know they come on as soon as you turn on the engine. Not sure why that is a problem though, they are LEDs, they consume..nothing.
  12. Touring Windshield Replacement recalibration

I had the windshield replaced ~2 months ago in a Honda dealership (with a factory one) and there was no recalibration needed. I have even asked them if it needs to be done and they said nope, everything should work as it previously did. So far they are indeed working as expected, everything from...
  13. Anybody else get the steering required warning before?

Consultadrone got it right. I only got that message when letting the car drive itself, without trying to steer at all.
  14. Civic parts on a Type R let me explain....

In most countries in EU, Type Rs come in GT trim (actually is the only one) which includes..kinda everything possible, except for subwoofer (which is not available at all in any hatch) and moonroof. Price is ~44.000 USD, although you can drag the price down probably by 2-4.000 USD. On this...
  15. Winter Tires

I use Nokian WR A4 215/50R17 for winter, mounted on a different set of wheels (Nokian made, EP3 Civic Type R OEM wheels). No all season tyre can be as effective as a good dedicated winter tyre or summer tyre. On top of that, in EU all cars are delivered with summer tyres on them (Civic came with...
  16. IMAGINE! 2019 Civic SI Hatchback..

Wonder if the CTR would have been at the same price with SI how many of the SI owners would have bought the SI, given that the hatch is sooo ugly.. Out of curiosity, apart from the engine power and seats, which are the differences between the SI and the hatchback sport in the US?
  17. Drove a 10th gen non-Si for the first time...

I hope you are joking with that real leather. It’s as real as Pixie Fairies.
  18. what is the smell every time after AC work?

It’s the smell of bacteria living on the AC evaporator located into the dashboard. Each time you use the AC that evaporator gets all wet (that’s where the water dripping under the car is coming from) and then remains wet after you turn off the car when reaching the destination. Solution: clean...
  19. Cloth armrest faded at 11,000 miles

Nope, nothing. I gave up using upholstery can foam cleaners long ago when realized that traces of foam remain in the fabric, accumulate there and cause it to look faded. The best remedy is prevention, thus not letting dirt accumulate in the fabric works best to keep it clean. On top of routine...
  20. Auto Brake Hold/Hill Assist in Sport Mode

Hill Hold is active all the time, by default, in all driving modes and will kick in only if the angle of the upward incline is more than a certain number of degrees. Brake Hold (separate system) is active only when you activate it from the button, will run in all modes and will keep the car in...
