  1. Clicking sound from wheels, only when tracking

I hadn't done any track days with this car until recently but now that I have I am noticing a clicking sound that seems to come from the wheels on the side that is loaded during cornering - not sure if it's front or back. The noise doesn't occur immediately but builds up slowly and gets louder...

This seems like an interesting idea. I want to add a rear sway in the next couple weeks. Is the photo in your post with the Whiteline bar? Could the Eibach Type R bar go too far? How much are people lifting the inside wheel with the Karcepts bar?
  3. Rear Suspension Clunking

It was -22C this morning and the gremlins showed up. After starting the car the clutch was quite sticky. When I drove off there was an excessive amount of clunking from the rear. I recorded it this evening in case I am unable to replicate at the dealer. My VIN is in the range covered by the...

Excited to see how you guys do today. Would a boat have been more appropriate?
  5. CTR Rear sway bar ***update***

    Thanks, good to know
  6. CTR Rear sway bar ***update***

I was considering picking one up, when the parts guy checked how long it would take to get it he found that the part was discontinued. What?
  7. CTR Rear sway bar ***update***

I was looking to shrink my autocross times by adding the CTR bar. Priced it out at my local dealer (in Canada) and got a price of $193 + another $40 for end links. At today's exchange rate that is $147 USD.
  8. Autocross advice - DRIVING (quoting from Andy Hollis)

Will left foot braking limp mode the car as the article says? I haven't tried it yet with this car but I was considering it as I'm getting comfortable. I come from a car that didn't have much in the way of nanny state so I'm not used to this.

They have noticeable wear after 2 events. I am rotating front to back after 2 events and will be taking the tires off the rims and flipping left to right after 4 events to even out wear as much as possible. I drive about 20km day for work and about 70km round trip to my girlfriends place on the...
  10. Civic Si in GS

For PITL events you are generally going to want to get into second and stay in second once you get there, unless you bog badly. Unless you are very smooth and consistent, it's likely you will lose time by getting shift happy and going back to first, or trying to stay in first too long. For our...

Working on the driver is always important. I've been autocrossing for 15 years and I did an autocross instruction day after the first event. It helped me get used to this car, which I hadn't even launch hard until the first event of the season. No matter how fast you are or how long you've done...

Yes, the car is completely stock other than wheels and tires. I'm not sure of the brand of the spacer as it was provided by the tire shop but it's 3mm and universal, not specifically for our cars. This is the first time I've used spacers so I'm not sure if there are better options that are not...

Put the wheels and tires on today. I ended up having to add a 3mm spacer to clear the brakes. They sit fairly flush. Looking forward to my first event!

Thank you very much. Hopefully this brings some autocross victories this season. I was a second off the winner in my first event with this car on all seasons after driving only 3 events in the last 3 years. Driver improvement + familiarity + grip will hopefully = wins. Will share info and pics...

I bought my civic in January and ran my first autocross with it last weekend. I knew the OEM all season tires would be bad but they were far worse than bad and I'm moving up my schedule for an upgrade in wheels and tires. I feel that I have a good shot at winning my club class with some wide...
