  5. 2020 CTR Test Drive/Reviews???

+1 for track feedback whenever someone does it. I anxiously await it...specifically high temp mitigation with improved front design. This car, while I love it, was not meant for hot and humid climates at the track. I would definitely make the jump to a MY20 if it meant being able to run without...
  6. PEEFREE's Civic Type R FK8 Build thread - Track / Street

stig_jdm has had great success running 295 / 265 fwiw.
  7. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Well that deflated my optimism completely. Bummer to hear.
  8. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Right? That shocked me too. I didn't see them running in the 2019 season to get a good look in person, wish I had been wiser to it in 18.
  9. PEEFREE's Civic Type R FK8 Build thread - Track / Street

I lol'd at your tire switch part. Didn't even need to see the next sentence (or video) to know how that was going to end up... Don't want to bomb your thread but posted here separately...
  10. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

http://motormavens.com/hma-motorsports-civic-type-r-flies-high-at-vir/ Came across this read today. The journalism is a bit ehhh but what was fascinating to me is it outlines HMA's shopping list for track-spec "OEM" vs. the TCR spec which really doesn't resemble stock at all to achieve...
  11. Front brake/brake pad question

    hai from trackjunkies! (hollywood)
  12. Front brake/brake pad question

I don't compete in my Type R like some of the users do here so I'm not the best resource for R related things, but I do avidly club race and endurance race so that's what I'm going off of (Ill take the R out to member days occasionally if I don't want to do the trailer dance). As long as the...
  13. Track Day Pads

same here - but I had an early batch for the rear. did you find a solution?
  14. Front brake/brake pad question

https://vorshlag-store.com/products/gloc-front-pads-for-s197-w-oem-14-brembos https://www.unitedspeedracing.com/index.php?id_product=103&controller=product IMO if it's dedicated, GLOC makes incredible pads (at least that fit my driving style). As long as you pay attention to bedding and...
  15. First 'cold' track event @ VIR - holy cow, what a difference!

of course you didn't notice it as much. the z06 has twice as many cylinders and utilizes half the boost (IIRC around 11 psi) ;) - these hondas pull timing to hell when things get hot and you're going to notice it more on the tiny displacement.
  16. Dynoing the FK8

    Can mods sticky this please?
  17. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

IMO if you're planning on flogging this car regularly, go with the Centric Plain 120 series and spend the money on decent pads. EDIT: and welcome!
  18. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Not sure if you just expanded on my post or were replying to me but...you're preaching to the choir. Two spec miatas, an S2000 and a GP3 WRL prep miata in my stable along with the R. Recently stepping back from burning cash in racing for years to casually lapping again for fun (as in, not towing...
  19. PEEFREE's Civic Type R FK8 Build thread - Track / Street

ftfy :/ I want to believe, but I don't. At any rate, your thread is the best I've seen to explore this and I'm subscribed.
  20. PEEFREE's Civic Type R FK8 Build thread - Track / Street

What scares me though is the amount of modifications necessary to even nudge this in the direction of track "efficient" at temp. Beautiful build man.
