  1. Go buy my old car

I'm glad you are enjoying the car. It never gave me any trouble, but it had low mileage when I traded it in. I always had it maintained at Honda City in Milwaukee. Oil changed on time. Tires rotated, etc. The rear license plate lights were replaced under warranty, so those are new. The car...
  2. Go buy my old car

It's more immediate off the line vs. a traditional CVT. I like that aspect about it. My wife and I owned two other cars with CVT's. A 2010 Nissan Altima and a 2016 Nissan Rogue. They were both bad for different reasons. The Toyota Corolla CVT is the best one I've driven.
  3. Go buy my old car

This might sound terrible, but I got sick of the manual. I went with the automatic in the Corolla. It has a 1st "launch" gear then switches to CVT. The Civic handles a little better, but the Corolla feels more refined.
  4. Go buy my old car

Notice I said flash tune. No device.
  5. Go buy my old car

I traded in my Civic Sport for a new Corolla SE. The Civic is a great car, but I've had my eye on the Corolla sedan since it came out in 2020. Here's my car for sale at Russ Darrow Toyota in West Bend, WI. https://www.russdarrowtoyota.com/auto/used-2018-honda-civic-sport-west-bend-wi/47695625/...
  6. Tunners in Chicago area?

Late to the party, but King Motorsports is in New Berlin, WI. https://www.kingmotorsports.com/
  7. Stock tune + Tail of the Dragon and HPDE track events

If tracking and very aggressive driving is your focus I would focus on tires, brakes, and suspension before power. A car driven as hard as you plan to needs to be able to stop and turn before going faster. I'm in a different situation than you. I drive curvy country roads briskly, but I will...
  8. Keep my EXT or go for a 2020 Si?

I'm in a similar situation as you, but I'm leasing my hatch. My hatch is fun with a tune, but I might end up with an SI for my next car. The adjustable suspension, stronger motor internals, sport seats, and LSD are drawing me towards the SI. There's other cars in the running from other...
  9. Civic Si Vs Civic Hatchback Vs Civic Coupe

What does a typical +9 tune on an SI make? Isn't it similar wheel horsepower to what my car has on +9 tune?
  10. Civic Si Vs Civic Hatchback Vs Civic Coupe

My lease will be up in 9 months. I'm currently obsessing over my decision to purchase my current car or lease an updated SI. I like the hatch of my car. It's fun with the tune. I'm debating if the SI sedan's seats, stereo, adaptive suspension, LSD, etc makes it worth it to pay a bit more per...
  11. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

Another car I'm considering as a "do everything" is a Veloster N with performance package. That car would give me just about everything I desire a car to be, but I can drive it year round without issue. It's less practical than my Civic, but more practical than a sports car. Again - I have to...
  12. civic si vs accord sport/ex 1.5t

My in-laws have a 2018 Accord EX with leather. They love it. No issues with the 1.5T for them. They have the CVT. I love how nimble my Civic is. Test drive them both and see which one speaks to you.
  13. Review of Sound Ordnance B-8P

I first used just speaker level input. I found I had to turn the gain up too high, and sometimes the sub would cut out at low volume. It was as if the voltage wasn't high enough to get signal. I have since installed a LOC (Still tapped into rear speakers), and all is well. I notice no...
  14. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

I don't think anyone can say for certain what finance companies will or will not do at this point. There's a lot of uncertainty. That's for sure. My car might be "worth" $10K or $14K a few months from now. We'll see.
  15. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

I wanted to follow up on your reply. I was recently searching for 128i's. The NA inline 6 appeals to me. The 128i would certainly be older, but you can find low mileage examples for not a lot of money. What was your experience as far as reliability goes with your BMW?
  16. Hondata price

The flash tune is a great option depending on the shop. I got it done at King Motorsports in Wisconsin. $350 plus tax. I haven't missed having my own unit. I also don't won't be doing anything else power wise. The car on a tune is a great balance between power and economy. You have to...
  17. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

Who knows what car values will be at the end of this Covid-19 situation. Currently my car is worth what my buyout is if I purchased today. That is trade in value.
  18. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

I'd finance it for 3 years if I decide to buy it. That would be the same if I bought a different used car for similar money.
  19. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

I'm considering this as an option. The 86 platform might be a more "practical" car for a daily driver even in winter.
  20. Civic vs Dedicated Sports Car

Very well thought out replies by everyone. Thank you. I have a lot to think about.
