  1. PRL CAI inspected after 9 months

There was nothing inside the filter, seems like it’s doing it’s job, I ended up giving it a nice bath, toothbrush treatment, some hair blower action and finger rub of oil before it went back on.
  2. PRL CAI inspected after 9 months

So I’ve finally got a nice day to get underneath my car and take PRL CAI filter off. It has been through summer-fall-winter, roughly 9 months and 10-12k miles in Central PA. And this is what I found... It is tough to judge how dirty it is by looking at the pictures, but I expected to...
  3. Highest mileage to date with 10th gen Si's?

I’m at 40k on my 17 Si, vittuned for 2 years now with prl cai since last spring. Did oil changes every 5-7k miles and got new tires at 37k, replaced mt fluid and flushed brake lines with an install of prl ss clutch line. Haven’t got to do any repairs yet... knocking on wood here.
  4. Rear Suspension Clunking

You guys can call me crazy, but for 2 winters I had my rear clunking every freaking morning when it was right around freezing and below.... and it’s my 3rd winter now, just hit 40k miles and I didn’t hear it, not a single time... Since last winter all what changed in my Si was an installed cai...
  5. Warped rotor

I’m @ 40k on my original rotors/pads. Rotors lasts loooooong time if you avoid braking over road imperfections, especially when wet. Now I’m no scientist, but every material no mater how strong it is has some flex, so let’s say u are braking at one of them messed up intersections, where heavy...
  6. CTR TC

I should’ve pay more attention to the lettering, I did see TCR at the glen while TCA class was running Si.
  7. CTR TC

I’ve seen one of these at the glen and it didn’t look like he had any problems lol. Won the race, hauled ass for the whole session.
  8. Rear Suspension Clunking

Since dealerships haven’t figured this one out for you guys for a 3rd winter now while I was just patiently waiting for that post with capital “SOLVED!!!”... I’m going to dig into this myself. I’m waiting for my clunking to come back and I might slap some kind of camera recorded underneath by...
  9. Airbox removal (Acura)

You probably already got it out. If you haven’t and you like to suffer you can take that bottom bolt out from up top in like an hour if you use enough curse words while doing it. You will not be able to see it, there is like < inch gap above it which is all the space you gonna have, ratchet...
  10. Tip for Si owners approaching 36k mile mark.

If we consider stock being 1, then I would say right now it feels like 2.5 it is just slightly firmer. But noticeable. And combined with more consistent feeling when engaging the clutch it feels so much better. I am still trying to understand how this made such a difference... Interesting...
  11. Shifter Boot

    100% agree with you.
  12. Shifter Boot

38k miles. 2.5 years as well. I’m pretty sure boot is not under warranty even if it would be less than 36k.
  13. Shifter Boot

Same spot, same tear on my 2017. Not sure if I want same Honda boot... 2 of us makes me think it’s a poor quality material. I’m not sure I want to keep replacing them boots every 2 years.
  14. Key fob low battery warning message

Both original batteries were shot. “New” battery was also shot. I got 2 batteries from a store earlier today and it is all good now.
  15. Tip for Si owners approaching 36k mile mark.

36k miles or 36 months is when our Si’s should have their brake fluid replaced according to owners manual/maintenance minder. If you are going to get your brake fluid replaced consider purchasing SS braided clutch line and getting it installed, since you are going to have your system flushed...
  16. What car do you plan on getting next?

Very simple answer on this one. New/slightly used TL type S IF I can’t find used V60 polestar engineered when the time comes. US is finally getting performance wagons and I’m sure they will be pulled out of this market within a few years and then drought for another 2 decades, so it’s now or...
  17. Key fob low battery warning message

I’m with you on this one, very odd that both of them does it. I am still due to replace the battery in my 2nd set of keys. I will replace both of them with brand new battery’s and then I guess off to a dealership. I did everything I could for 2.5 years to avoid going to a dealership... CR 2032...
  18. Key fob low battery warning message

So I got the key fob low battery warning on my 17’ si. I tossed the keys in the drawer and grabbed another set of keys that I had sitting for 2.5 years and... warning came back again after two weeks of using a key fob that haven’t been used before. Next step I replaced the battery in it and I...
  19. Dealer said my brakes need to be replaced next visit. Is this a realistic quote??

Always always always get a 2nd mechanic to look at your rotors if you don’t know what are you looking at yourself. I had 3 occasions when dealership would tell me I need new rotors, while my mechanic wouldn’t even see a need to resurface them... these guys will charge you $100 for replacing...
  20. Driving Scenario

I do this quite often, if I fee like a light will turn green by the time I get there I will roll in neutral shift in to 2nd or 3rd if I’m above 26 mph, according to manual “under normal acceleration” 2nd is 16 mph and 3rd is 26 mph. Other times, at higher speed and gear I would downshift gear...
