  1. Seat heaters

I think I've only used max heat once or twice. Honestly, the middle setting is just about perfect. After some time, it can get to be a little too warm, so then I just drop to low and there is enough residual heat to keep things comfortable (and if it starts to cool off too much, I just go back...
  2. 2019 Civic Si Coupe / Sedan Specs and Pricing Released

It's only happened a few times (if that), but I've accidentally hit the cruise on/off button accidentally when going for the set button before. Not enough to think the button needs moved, but perhaps others have done it frequently enough that they thought it needed changed? I'd rather it be in...
  3. 2018 Si 3 month Reflection

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's notice this! I always find it strange how, on a fairly regular basis, it feels much stronger and quicker at about 3/4 throttle from a roll than full throttle from a stop. I've noticed it's stronger in cooler weather for sure, but even then, it's still...
  4. Does anybody actually like the stock wheels?

I like the stock rims. But I'm also not the type of person who buys a car with the intention to make changes. I prefer to buy a car that has the features and looks I want as-is. The stock wheels on the Si were one of the features I really like and drew me towards this car. I also don't like...
  5. A/C fan speed trick

Good overview of how the system works. I think there is justs a misconception that Auto mode controls everything, and if the light is off, it is purely manual control. This explain how/when that is not the case. In the end, it is still a helpful trick to know. Sometimes you still need to...
  6. New Tach Trick!

I'm just curious, how many people are actually watching their tachometer when driving? My first car was a manual transmission and didn't have a tach, only a "shift up" light. So I learned to drive stick without a tach. Now, of course I see the benefits of a tachometer and would definitely...
  7. New Tach Trick!

Very cool find! I made this change today. I only messed with the "tach off" feature once when I first brought the car home while sitting in the driveway, but didn't see any benefit, so I just left it alone. But now having a feel for the car and knowing the shift points on feel/sound, the tach...
  8. Coupe vs Sedan

I got a sedan because I have a kid, and I'm not even attempting to live with a coupe and putting him in the back seat. I also prefer the look of the sedan and added practicality. I had a Si sedan 10 years ago, long before my son was even imagined, for the same reason. I love sporty cars and...
  9. Best cell phone mounting location / attachment devices

That is the same mount I had in my previous car. It is fantastic. I put the small disc on the outside of my cases, and it never shifted or moved unless I moved it myself. I like the way you have it mounted on your dash. So far, I have yet to install a new mount aside from a vent mount on the...
  10. SO - What's the single WORST feature of your Civicx?

You're not alone. I love the styling of the Si. It's one of the reasons I bought the car. I don't care if the "vents" are not functional, I prefer the look of them over the regular bumper on the Civic sedan.
  11. Bluetooth as audio source: what use?

Bluetooth streaming works reasonably well, but it will not give you the same level of control Android Auto will. Once you select a playlist/album/whatever, you can skip forwards and backwards and play/pause, but that's about it. My old Accord would also give me very limited searching ability...
  12. SO - What's the single WORST feature of your Civicx?

I find it interesting that some find the steering wheel buttons to be of low quality. I personally really like the look and feel of the buttons. Compared to the buttons on the 2014 Accord, which felt spongy and wore off quickly, these have a nice tactile feel and clean look to me.
  13. SO - What's the single WORST feature of your Civicx?

Only minor complaint I have with my Si is the lack of HVAC controls. I don't mind using the screen, but the delay is a bit irritating at times. I'd definitely prefer a knob or hard buttons to adjust the fan speed (really, the only thing I want to adjust quickly), though I'm not going to give...
  14. Sport/Si owners

Since I don't see the option in the poll, I'll just write it here: "Keep my Si and continue to drive it" The point at which premium becomes unaffordable is the point where I adjust my lifestyle and stop driving. Yes, premium is more expensive than regular, but if premium goes up to that...
  15. Replacing Stock Tires

I found myself going back to Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on the last three cars I've owned. A good blend of comfort, quiet, and performance every time, and they work fantastically in rain and snow.
  16. Any Grievances for the 2018 Civic Si?

This just reminded me of when I went from a 2008 Civic Si to a 2011 GTI. I remember posting on a GTI forum that the SI felt like a lighter and quicker car when taken through some back mountain twisties, even though I know the GTI was actually faster. So many people jumped down my throat for...
  17. Any Grievances for the 2018 Civic Si?

I had a 2008 Civic SI that would scratch/scuff/ding if you so much as looked at it wrong. My brother has a 2009 SI that has had major paint issues (faded and exposed to bare metal) as well. When washing my car yesterday, I noticed a ding through the paint on the hood of the car (don't recall...
  18. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Took a little time and did a quick wash on the car and bike yesterday. Not ideal to wash under direct hot sunlight, but with a 3 year old and a busy schedule, I have to take advantage of any opportunity!
  19. Thinking about purchasing a 2018 Si - Need input

I'm loving my '18 SI. Had a '14 Accord Sport manual before, and have no regrets getting the SI. I also owned a 2008 Civic SI many years ago, though it's been far too long for me to try and compare them. I will say that the lack of VTEC is not an issue, at least for me, as I vastly prefer the...
  20. Will it baby?

Looks like you already got your answer, but just to further put you at ease: yes, it will all fit. Now, my son is 3 years old and in a booster, so I haven't tried a rear-facing car seat or infant carrier, but have no reason to doubt that they will fit just fine. Plus, check and see if you...
