You can check fuel stat number at wot on ktuner to see if it's running at closed or open loop. Easier trick is to look at stft1 in tunerview if it says 0 all the time at wot is means is running open loop and not making fueling corrections.
Unless it is a bigger MAF sensor housing, you shouldn't be worried. Anyway, part of custom tuning is adjusting the MAF table (mass air flow sensor) so your trims stay closer to zero.
