Here's some feedback on the 93 Octane tune I've been running.
Tune feels very good, smoother and faster than stock or Hondata. I like it a lot! This is a great spot to have our car with some bolt ons.
I first tried the street throttle mapping. I have 19 inch rims with 255 P4S tires that are...
The answer is pretty simple. If you get a good/reputable tune and don't lug the engine, you'll PROBABLY be fine.
But there's always a chance so make sure that having to pay ~$11,000 or whatever for an engine and install wouldn't ruin your life. Even if you have hypothetically $75,000 in a...
I start in R mode because I really enjoy the firmness of the steering. The only time I typically go into another mode is if I have a lot of rough road or speed bumps to go over.
Currently running Phearable phase 2 with downpipe and intercooler. Est. 375 WHP, when I drive it aggressively in city driving I get around 20 MPG.
Wondering what those of you with a bigger turbo and upgraded fuel system pushing 450 to 500 WHP are getting? Thanks for any info, thinking about...
Was the car dynoed after you got the turbo installed? How'd it do?
Did you get bored of the car after you completed the build, or is there another reason you're selling?
Question for the 93 Octane Tune. If you're in an area where only 91 Octane is available, how does the tune react without causing knock in the engine? Is there a way to drive it with no issues (maybe comfort mode)?
Car Current state: Hondata 93 Octane Tune, 19 inch rims, rest stock
Overall endgame objective: I'd like to run 400 to 450 WHP reliably as a daily driver with a rare track day maybe once a year, nothing too serious on the track day though so I wouldn't be pushing the car for time. I do live in...

I imagine that will mostly happen, but you will have a few niche cars or companies that decide to take that market.
Pretty sure you'll still be able to get a manual miata. Will Honda also decide to keep taking that market with the Type R? We shall see.
Congratulations!!! The Type R is an amazing performance machine for the price!
I recently went from an SI to a WRX to a 2019 Type R. Luckily the SI and WRX held their value so well that my car swaps were cheaper than many people lease cars for.
Let me give you a word of warning. Those stock...
I was heavily pondering the Motegi's. My only hesitation is will going with 19 inch give the advantage in sidewall strength to make it worth it vs the stock wheels? It kinda feels that getting an extra 17% or so in sidewall material with 19s might not be worth it. But yeah, can't have it all...
I appreciate the in depth response. However I see threads with people that are happy with wheels that deviate significantly from that offset. For example, RSR 18x9.5 et40, SSR GTX01 19x9.5 et38 etc. I know these wheels are a little but more expensive, but they do show that the offset can work...
They look really nice, but a little more than I want to spend and I do wonder if the lightness will reduce durability for daily usage. Will put it on the list to consider.
