I paid $140 total.
That includes the price of the film which is about $60 plus shipping/handling from the lamin x website. The kit also includes the films for the two rear reflectors on the plastic "vents".
Yes I went to a local shop.
After a few weeks it defiitely got better. There's only slight amount of wrinkles left. A few edges of the film are loose as well. Its definitly not a task for someone who is novice at this stuff. The guys i went to have a lot of experience in tinting and had trouble...
I have 5% (limo) on the rears and 20% on the front. I regret not getting the same all around as I really dislike the mismatched look of the two front windows. Its a pretty noticeable contrast. Whichever percantage you choose I recommend doing the same on all windows.
Oh that makes sense.
The lock does look pretty bad. It contrasts highly with the my crystal black pearl. I was even thinking of painting it black.
Let us know how it goes!
Installed the Reverse LED X and brake lights today. I think this photo is a good comparison of the LED (left) and stock halogen (right) brake lights. The smoked tails make it overall darker, but you can still see a big difference.
I'd like to thank the TypeRLEDs team for their products!
Although it tends to the expensive, I find it best to go OEM for replacements. You can get one from your dealer. I did the same with my cracked bumper when I was rear ended.

As for replacing it, I have...
You can use films to tint the taillights. Lots of different manufactures. I went with Lamin X precut films from their website.
You can peel them off when you want by applying heat to "loosen up" the adhesive.
Had a shop install the pre-cut tail light films
It didn't come out perfect. Guy said he had a log of trouble with all the complex curvature. Looks decent though
