OP has it right on this. My good friend has a 991.1 911 GT3 and replacement costs for the OEM ceramic rotors and pads are $20k.
Honda killed it with this gen CTR. The lap times and sustained dealer markups donāt lie. The only real design flaw is the inadequate cooling system.

Motor trend is throwing some gasoline on the rumor. Saying The new CTR could get a Hybrid SH AWD system similar to the NSX. Now they have my attention.
So say thisās happens, when in 2022 do you think it will drop...
Thatās not the worse deal ever, but paying anything close to MSRP for a year old+ old car is a hard sale. I would pay invoice or slightly above for that car. Everyone buying a new CTR at this juncture is gonna want a 2020.
..
I missed a opportunity to get a red 2020 for $35,800 + shipping (or something really close to that) from a dealer in Indiana last month. I will pay MSRP for for a CW or BB, otherwise I will hope to get a deal under MSRP on a different color.
IMO this corona ordeal Is just starting, the...
While I agree with all this and the stock IC is pathetically small there are handfuls of forum members who have upgraded to aftermarket ICs, oil coolers and larger radiators and still are overheating at the track. I still donāt think this problem has been totally solved yet.
Any idea when the new wave of ctrās is due to hit stateside? The mud seems to be thickening with corona, a shaky economy and whatās sure to be a absolute shitshow of an election on the horizon. There are bound to be some deals on 2020s soon.
Iām curious how much faster it is than a standard ā20. Itās roughly 50lbs lighter and has slightly different dampers and steering. Thatās a pretty impressive lap time. I wonder what it will do on the Nurburgring?
I agree, at this point itās gotta be a design flaw. Iāve followed several āCooling issueā related threads and there are guys who have thrown thousands at new radiator/IC/insert cooling mod and are still overheating on warm days at the track.
It would be one thing if this was happening on a si...
Its hard to believe that after this much anticipated car finally arrived in North America and has been out for 3+ years w/ a design update to address this very problem that no one has apparently solved the track overheating problem on the CTRs. Is this a failure of the aftermarket or is this a...
Thatās is concerning that after all the time and money spent on some of the best reviewed cooling āupgradesā money can buy and thereās still no real world solution to the CTR overheating on the track on warm days after only a few laps.
What gives? How could Honda possibly overlook this?
Honda of Fife, WA ( 30 mins south of Seattle) has a ā19 CW CTR thatās been sitting in their showroom collecting dust and fingerprints for god knows how long. So considering the current situation we are in (dealership is closed selling nothing) I emailed them inquiring on it. The sales women...
So whatās the the consensus then, is MSRP still a decent deal on a 19? Half say you can get them for invoice all day, but here in the Seattle area most stealers are still marking up the 2019 cars that are sitting around collecting dust and finger prints.
Thanks for the heads up. Iād pay a bit more than invoice for the right car, but MSRP doesnāt feel like a good deal on a ā19 anymore. I would have to think on red, I was really hoping for a CW. Any other leads on Seattle area dealers looking to make a nice deal?
Greetings,
Iām looking to buy a 19 ctr at invoice or a 20 for MSRP. Preferably in CW. Any dealers in the Seattle/tacoma area that can make this happen?
