  1. OEM HomeLink Install

You're not replacing the entire Civic console with the Odyssey one....you're only using the Homelink part in the console you bought and putting it into the existing space in the Civic console!
  2. What did you do to your Civic today?!

That's sweet...a detailed write up of how you wired it would be awesome and well appreciated! Also where did you get the old Homelink Part? You already have that van or you buy the part somewhere? They are super expensive in most places - just wondering if you picked it up anywhere a little more...
  3. What little tips and tricks do you know?

This works until you open a door
  4. Aftermarket trunk storage options?

I second the Rola storage one - little pricey but totally worth it! I have one in my trunk and you can see a picture of it in the Civic trunk in my Garage Photos.
  5. Have a low interest rate? I suggest finance as much as you can. Am I wrong?

Inflation does not function that way. 5% inflation your money would be worth less as time went on rather than more. Think about it you have the same amount of money as you did before but stuff got more expensive!
  6. Since when do Americans need a permit to assemble?

Fair enough....didn't catch that. Just saw it in my recents. Discuss on...
  7. Since when do Americans need a permit to assemble?

I'm in no way way commenting on political opinions on this post - but I will say this is a car forum and certainly not the place for these types of conversations. I hope the rest of this forum would echo me in saying this type of post certainly doesn't belong here.
  8. What's the problem?

If you have some fuses laying around that match then go for it. I just didn't have any and was right by the dealership so I figured I'd check with them.
  9. What's the problem?

That's exactly what you did. I did the same thing changing my trunk light over to LED. That wire is always hot if the trunk is open so if the to sides touch in any way it shorts out that circuit. I put the OEM bulb back in and took it to dealer - they replaced the fuse for free. When you take...
  10. Honda collision warning beep

How do you turn the beeping off without actually disabling the safety feature? I'd love that info because even with the distance setting changed to fine tune it it constantly beeps at me in stop and go traffic when I'm clearly paying attention on my own. The beep is annoying - I'd much rather it...
  11. Need guidance

Looking over your paperwork - you can't say you "got" things like mats and the warranty. You PAID for those things. It's clear as day in the paperwork. You chose a warranty and a maintenance contract on the car that they charged you for (and charged way too much at that). You definitely didn't...
  12. Great OEM Trunk Storage Find from Honda Thailand!

It's by a company called ROLA that makes these and external cargo carriers of all kinds. Bought it on Amazon. It's not the cheapest but it's really sturdy and gets the job done. I bought the larger of the two and it just barely fits snug in the way back of the civic trunk with having the trunk...
  13. What did you drive before your Civic?

About to turn 30 - the Civic is my first new car - they've gotten progressively better! - 2016 Civic EX-T - 2008 Mazda 3 Touring - 2003 Dodge Neon - 2001 Plymouth Neon (Wrecked after 3 weeks) - 1992 Mercury Topaz (Bought for $200)
  14. Great OEM Trunk Storage Find from Honda Thailand!

Hey there neighbor! I'm in Stow right off of Rt. 8 at Steels Corner. There's actually a black Civic parked at my complex, but no tints so not you! I bought the car from Great Lakes but it's too new to have needed service. However, I originally had an EX and went through all kinds of issues with...
  15. Great OEM Trunk Storage Find from Honda Thailand!

I was browsing eBay for some storage ideas for stuff in my Civic and I came across this - figured I'd share in case someone else was interested. It's an OEM Honda product, not originally designed for the Civic but it fits like a glove on the back of the 60-40 split seats. Velcro's right on and...

  17. Installing a Gentex auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink into a '16 Civic

I'm not sure where he found the mirror for $45, but it's available on eBay for about $60. I have the sensing package and my mirror mounts differently. People don't realize Gentex makes the same homelink system to build into visors of all colors. Those are on eBay for about $30 and look like...
  18. Stainless steel scuff plates

Your link sends me to an Amazon page with scuff plates that are for a bunch of cars but not Civic. I love the scuff plate in that photo since it's darker than most I've seen and would look really good with my Metallic Steel color - can you provide a functioning link to those ones?
  19. Help with Interior Leather Parts Swap?

I saw that when I started digging into parts. I asked the dealer and got nowhere, but it seems like they cost about the same everywhere. If you check discount part sites they are a little cheaper but still proportionally the same compared to the other leather upgrades. My guess is that since...
  20. Worst Fabric in Arm Rest and Center consol

Guys...this guy is clearly a troll who is just dying for attention. Why else spend time on an enthusiast forum for a car you think is crap! The absolute worst thing you could do to this guy is for this post to be the last response he gets no matter what he says! Trolls are like raccoons - feed...
