For the sub, there isn't enough power and the sub isn't great. It depends on how much bass you like but i've found the stock enclosure is just fine for my needs. I've tried cranking the bass up and it sounds terrible when it is too high.

Unfortunately I have not but I've read they have slightly punchier mid bass than the focals. I believe RMS for focals is 60 while morels are 90? I'm still running on my stock amp for focals but plan to run an aftermarket amp in the future.

I would get the Morel Maximos you linked or the focal RSE-165. I have the RSE-165 and they sound great in my car. I've read from others that the morel maximos are also really good too. I don't think you could go wrong with either

you should be able to use the sub settings in the HU. Only problem is you need to switch to FM/AM/SXM to adjust it. A small inconvenience though

Other people have told me you could just connect to the speaker outs and not connect through the digital SPDIF. There was a thread somewhere around here saying the HU and OEM amp communicate through the digital SPDIF for SVC, audio settings, and some other functions. I don't know if you can...

Do you know if installing an aftermarket DSP and amp will cause any loss of any functions from the headunit?

I'm thinking of doing that I'm just worried since i've been reading on these forums and it seems that installing a dsp will cause you to lose a few functions from the HU since the HU communicates with the amp for certain functions.

I want to keep the same HU in hopes that I can keep other functions of the car that are bound to it. Would replacing the dsp solve this bass roll off issue?

Gotcha, what did activating developer mode have to do with adjusting the equalizer? I always thought the equalizer was accessible without developer mode?

Can you elaborate on the improvements of sound that you got? Like more mid bass or clarity?
