  1. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

Ya, this is definitely possible. This actually happened to my 2017 Civic (RIP poor car). They replaced it, then the actual TSB and extended warranty for that came out and back in again as it leaked once more.
  2. Civic AC heading for lawsuit?

Never had an issue with the compressor on my 2017 for the 4 years the poor girl was alive. I did have the condenser recall and got the siphon hose done as a TSB coverage.
  3. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

Well, I am in Canada so I couldn't join. Also, where I only paid about $40 for the initial troubleshooting and had an overall good go with my dealer, I wouldn't have much to gain. BUT!!! Good luck to you if it can happen!
  4. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

Yes, this is definitely an issue that Honda corporate doesn't seem to care to fix. The disjointed and seemingly deliberate ignorance that is feigned over issues like this.
  5. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

Well, Honda should be FAR more reliable and high quality from the likes of Chrysler/Fiat/Stelantis. Where people are rightly pissed at the 10th gen is the savagely poor quality A/C systems and the quality of the cloth interiors as it regards any of the touch surfaces. I'd mention the...
  6. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

I stand corrected. I always thought they were across time.

And this is where Honda, as much as I love their products overall, drives me crazy. The Civic sedans are ALL made in Canada for the US/CA market so the TSBs should be for BOTH countries. And vice versa for a lot of other products too. Accords in Kentucky sold in Canada, CRVs made in Ohio sold...
  8. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

Ya, first issue should be mitigated with the replacement part for the siphon hose and #2 should disappear entirely. The question is down to if you want to pay for the work (Frustratingly) Yes, there is no question that the AC in the 10th gen is a disaster for 2016 to 2018. They released an...

If you are willing to spend the cash, replacing the "siphon hose" part should resolve it. But it means an evacuation of the system, the part and labor and then the refill. My 17 Civic is now in the great race track in the sky but it kept the issue resolved right till the bitter end.
  10. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

Only if it is a manifold gauge set. You need to monitor the high and low pressure side of the system to do it even close to right. To say nothing of the fact that there is more danger in overfilling than underfilling. So err on the side of caution.
  11. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

OK, that is an altogether different situation and makes more sense. However, you would have to be sure you lease only as long as you pay for bumper to bumper warranty. And on the dealer side of things, it still blows my mind that there is as much inconsistency between them as there are. And...
  12. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

I'm confused. The condenser is under a TEN year warranty and all work done related to it and because there is a backorder issue, you will only lease a Honda and then STILL encounter the same problem if this same kind of situation were to happen again in the future? The reality is that a...
  13. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

This is quite typical. Honda and Toyota both usually dual source for any subcomponents that are not made by them to, in theory, avoid such a large issue when one happens. The powertrains, chassis and a few other things are about the only bits that are expressly made by Honda and Toyota and...
  14. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

The initial manufacture part is different from the one on the affected Civics. 80100-TBC-A01. The affected civics so far, have had TBA and not TBC but that could also be turbo vs. NA engine. Someone with a turbo will have to speak to this.
  15. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

That is the same estimate on time I got. For me, that means somewhere close to the middle of July.
  16. I will never buy a HONDA again!

This was from my post, not @World Traveler . However, it is an approach angle. Yes, that term is usually reserved for off roading but when you have to worry about how slow to drive entering leaving parking lots, it is an approach angle as to the Civic, the roadway is now off roading! ;) On...
  17. I will never buy a HONDA again!

Not sure what to actually recommend. The reality is that one off experiences that go bad are, well, crappy and no doubt leave you with a bad taste in the mouth. Equal to that reality is the simple fact that you could get into a brand new whatever and find the exact same bad, one off situation...
  18. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

You are correct. I dug up the paperwork and it was a first run condenser that was installed. I would bet that they simply were burning through them in an attempt to maybe get the few A01 part versions that were actually good? Regardless, at least it is no cost to me :) And it is now almost a...
  19. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

I am getting mine done for a second time. First was done in April of 2018. This second time will be free too.
  20. A/C system noise/whistling - lets sum all the information pals

The sound from outside was as good as identical to the pitch and tone of the sound I had in my car (Just louder). And happened near to the same RPM that he was experiencing it at.
