Methan, Do you have chatter and any of the other problems that some folks have had with the fx350?
I know next to nothing about a clutch, but can you list all the parts that you swapped out or (polished/fixed?) when putting in the new clutch?
My wife told me that she would learn to drive stick if I got an si.
Does your spouse like the si? Could they drive stick before you picked it up? Have they enjoyed it and try to take it over? Or was it a short love affair them?
yes, fumbling around for a "touch" interaction is an added and increased distraction. There is no tactile way to tell if you have found the correct knob or setting to change. Knobs are especially important in a Manual car where you can easily end up in an accident while you were trying to change...
I. Have an idea. Get your vacuum cleaner. Use the hose, reduce the suction and down step the hose mouth to a straw, or something similar..stick that in your door until you get the pebble. Vacuum it up.
Besides "prettying" up the car, what other purpose do they serve? Do they reduce sound in the cabin? What kind of sound (road/tire/engine?) and how much noise reduction would you say it actually provide?
Bahndrvr, the engine mount side covers, is there room to stick the Dynamat underneath the side covers and have the pieces still fit and mount properly?
The engine noise doesn't bother me much. When I drive alone, I don't listen to much of anything. When you have kids, nothing like some peace and quiet, lol.
I just took a test drive in an SI coupe and wow, at 60mph there was no wind noise. The car was pretty silent. I was riding on some pretty decent road, but man was I impressed with the noise levels. The only part that was really getting to me was the hodrum, mind numbing sound of the roadnoise...
I am really interested in picking up a Civic SI, but I am concerned about the level of interior noise that it makes.
I already realize that tires and road materials make up a bit and can change, but I'm more interested in the amount of noise from other sources.
For you long distance daily...
OP, if you are so on a getting a hatch, why not save some cash by picking up a used hatch? This will soften the blow of the money you will lose on your tradein.
