yes, fumbling around for a "touch" interaction is an added and increased distraction. There is no tactile way to tell if you have found the correct knob or setting to change. The engine noise doesn't bother me much. When I drive alone, I don't listen to much of anything. When you have kids, nothing like some peace and quiet, lol.

I just took a test drive in an SI coupe and wow, at 60mph there was no wind noise. The car was pretty silent. I was riding on some pretty decent road, but man was I impressed with the noise levels. The only part that was really getting to me was the hodrum, mind numbing sound of the roadnoise...

OP, if you are so on a getting a hatch, why not save some cash by picking up a used hatch? This will soften the blow of the money you will lose on your tradein.
