  1. Excessive oil dilution after TSB fix

Iā€™m really torn on weather or not to return mine when the lease is up - I like the car and the mechanic in me says this dilution problem seriously reduces the lifespan of the engine - especially with the turbo - but most tests show wear metals normal - my gut says it has to affect durability and...
  2. Excessive oil dilution after TSB fix

My ā€˜18 Hatch Sport didnā€™t even warm up on the few cold days we had here in NY last week - dealer had it for 5 days and replaced thermostat - today itā€™s 18 degrees and yesterday was cold too and so far so good - A/C fix and software did nothing for me
  3. Summer ending- temperatures dropping - tire pressures getting lower

I get the nitrogen in my tires from the good Lord. Seeing as how the air we breath is 78.09% nitrogen, I go with that and the $20 12v air compressor I keep in the trunk of my ā€˜18 Hatch Sport. To each his own but I could never deal with relying on having to take my car somewhere to have something...
  4. What are these rubber plugs?

They belong at the bottom of each cylinder in the 1.5t to prevent oil dilution. Youā€™re screwed
  5. Super slow warm up times

And this is part of the issue with oil dilution - I received the software update and for a short time mine warmed up a little faster - the other day I left work and my engine was at normal temp the first couple of miles of driving - then I go down a very long hill ( mountain) where I coast most...
  6. Wtf winter tire faster

You basically changed the final drive ratio of your car by decreasing the overall diameter of the wheel/tire. Itā€™s not necessarily a bad thing but places like Tirerack.com usually match the wheel/tire combos to maintain the same ( or close ) diameter regardless of what size wheel you out on -...
  7. 6000 mile brake service needed?

I understand you do your own oil changes but only the dealer has the proprietary left handed screwdrivers needed for brake service.
  8. What else is on your driveway?

2007 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor
  9. CVT belt failure at 14k miles...

I thinks itā€™s more than disingenuous to not include in the post title that the car is a salvage - there is a neither post on CVT failure as well - then when itā€™s read one finds out the vehicle was modified. To just put that the trans failed after 14k miles is BS.
  10. Possible to add paddle to non sport hatch?

I have the paddles in my 18 sport hatch - theyā€™re useless - the manual shift auto in my 2012 Ford F-350 work truck works better
  11. Warranty Extension Notice Letter

I got the letter as well. I have not had any issues other than a strong gasoline smell from the dipstick on first oil change. I had the software update and A/C part replaced- I am leasing my ā€˜18 hatch sport- initially my doubts were about the longevity of the CVT- now my issue is with the...
  12. Scotty on the Earth-Dreams GDI engines.

Heā€™s right though - Iā€™m glad I leased mine- this dilution issue may not bode well for long term reliability of these engines - mine goes back in 2 years
  13. Which floormats did you purchase?

Keep us posted on how they hold up - Iā€™ve got the Huskys and I agree - theyā€™re very industrial looking -those looks nice. Good luck with them
  14. Finally got oil dilution recall!

Got mine done a few weeks ago. Replaced A/C control unit and installed new software update. Had to take it back for a second software update because car would warm up and then go completely cold- it kept fluctuating. Since the second visit I notice engine gets to temp a little faster than before...
  15. Waiting for the recall (oil dilution) was

My personal opinion ? Iā€™m leasing mine for 3 years and then turning it back in. This works fine for me. With this dilution issue I would be wary of buying a car with this engine and wanting to keep it and get 200k miles out of it - not sure anyone really knows how it will effect longevity .
  16. Car taking forever to "warm up" after oil dilution TSB

It was behaving very much like a sticky thermostat in some of the older cars Iā€™ve owned - but so far it looks like the second reflash fixed it
  17. Car taking forever to "warm up" after oil dilution TSB

I picked the car up today- they told me Honda came out with another update to the software and they flashed it into the car. I have to say the car warmed up MUCH quicker and stayed right on. After the original TSB was done last week, it would warm very slowly the cool down and I'd lose heat- the...
  18. Waiting for the recall (oil dilution) was

I had the a/c unit replaced and the re-program done last week. I then had intermittent heat and the car would slightly warm up then go completely cold with zero heat - this happened several times. Today I picked it up from the dealer and they said Honda came out with an updated flash and that...
