Have scheduled an appointment at the dealer already but wanted to see if anyone else has come across this issue yet. I've had my R since December. The last few days I've started to hear what initially sounded like a resonance that was RPM dependent. I'd pull away from a stop light and the sound...
Anybody actually run and get trap speeds from Stage 1 cars yet? The newer GT's are trapping 116-117. From a roll you better have your ducks in a row to touch that.
Saw my very first CTR a few days ago in my area. I was not happy. Lol.
Coming from a 2017 WRX. The CTR is an all around better car. Better daily driver so far as well.
WRX feels ancient compared to the CTR. AWD is the only plus even though it is Open Diff on both ends. Blah.
My WRX was a good solid car. But the CTR is much better in every category. Including...
Dealers can actually get in trouble for advertising prices higher than MSRP. That's why all the prices in autotrader usually are MSRP. Then you go to the website and see a different price or call and get a different price.
It's not uncommon in any market. The real a-holes are the ones that...
I've never noticed a real difference either way in countless situations on turbo cars. Higher RPM power would be the biggest difference if there were more than 5whp.
Sport 80% and R the other 20%.
I do not like the steering feel in comfort at all. I don't think I've gone to comfort other than when I first purchased the car to feel it out.
This can go a few different ways in relation to how much more timing can be ran. More timing equals more heat in the cylinder. Ethanol does burn cooler, but is it enough to overcome the difference. EGT will definitely be lower especially at a lower boost threshold.
Basically.... We have a big...
I'm not sure if the timing difference could really make up for all that missing air. Definitely worth looking at long term. I don't think it's going to be there though.
Not sure what AWD cars you're referring to. Having owned quite a few of them I could break the tires loose on WRX and Focus RS and Stage 1 power levels especially easily in 2nd. Lower than stock CTR power levels on the WRX with the same size tires.
CTR is more planted than either platform by...
Twin scroll has one purpose. To spool faster. The design hampers flow up top. I can't think of a single Twin-scroll OEM setup that is not dead in the water above maybe 5800RPM.
Ktuner released the Stage 1 maps and Dynos for both platforms. You can see them on their site. And as Dallas has pointed out above. The Type R absolutely murders the Accord in all aspects. In the neighborhood of 80whp up top with a much wider torque spread. CTR makes over 300wtq from 2400-5800...
Turbo sizing is relative to application. Why would they focus on low end torque for a car that is made to run fast on high speed tracks? If you decrease the backend to help spool you will lose that airflow up top. Personally on an engine that Revs to 7K it spools just fine. Especially after...
