  1. What's the name of this underbody part?

No, I'm looking for the long panel shaded red in the photo in my original post. The metal plate is a different part. (Actually, I shaded the wrong side. I need the right hand side one, which is this part: Cover, R Front Floor (Lower) - 74606-TGG-A10.) There's none in Australia so I have to get...
  2. What's the name of this underbody part?

Thanks both, much appreciated. I can also confirm that the left/right panels are the same orientation on Australian Type R's, even though our steering wheel is on the right side not the left.
  3. What's the name of this underbody part?

Hi guys, What's the name of this underbody part shaded red in the photo? A stick punctured it and it's now half torn off and dragging, I need to replace it.
  4. Si Coupe - Full JL Audio Upgrade

I'd definitely recommend it. Here's what the factory EQ looked like in my Aussie 2018 Type R: That's the capture from an Audison 8.9 bit, which is an outboard amp with built-in DSP correction. If you don't apply correction, that's what you're going to get at your speakers. Alternatively, you...
  5. Yet another head unit question (thank you Honda for the pain)

You're bang-on. The factory EQ is terrible and the speakers are literally about $5 from Honda Spares. That's WITH their mark-up! They're expensive, but sound amazing. I've got a full Dynaudio setup in my house too so just had to go all the way! I definitely recommend replacing the factory...
  6. Aussie Type R... the good and the bad

Answering my own questions here... Aussie CTRs have Pioneer speakers in the doors (8 total), which are even cheaper and crapper than the Foster speakers in the slightly-better-but-still-bad 11 speaker setup overseas Aussie CTRs don't have a separate amplifier in the door; it's built into the...
  7. Yet another head unit question (thank you Honda for the pain)

No, the Australian Type R only has 8 speakers and the amp is built into the head unit (like entry range Civics). There's a tonne of EQ applied to the signal as well... you can see the trace here. I've read elsewhere that the DSP protocol between the HU and outboard amp (in Civics that has one)...
  8. So here it is.. the factory EQ on the Aussie FK8!

Unfortunately no, the automatic process doesn't allow for multiple readings at different volumes. I haven't worked out how to pipe audio into the head unit from my laptop (bluetooth from phone works, but not laptop for some reason) so I can't get REW's tone sweep to check for myself. There's...
  9. So here it is.. the factory EQ on the Aussie FK8!

We already know the audio in the FK8 is an area where Honda has cut costs. 12 relatively average Foster speakers, a lousy 550W outboard amp and a subwoofer that doesn't really do much... what could be worse? :-) Cut to Australia, where Honda has deleted the centre dash speaker, both rear C...
  10. Aussie Type R... the good and the bad

The market is so different there! Here, all dealers sell at MSRP or slightly below. We're lucky! On the other hand, vehicles worth more than $USD50k attract a 33% luxury car tax here, which sucks (you can imagine how much that adds to the price of a Lamborghini..) For the record, a Type R here...
  11. Aussie Type R... the good and the bad

The UK Type R has automatic engine start/stop? We don't have that in Australia! Does it reset the head unit each time? That would be annoying...
  12. Aussie Type R... the good and the bad

Personally I love the adaptive cruise control with low speed follow... I use it all the time. It puts on the breaks to ensure you've got the minimum distance to the car in front (which you specify with the steering wheel controls). Maybe they'll introduce a higher trim in the US if this one...
  13. Yet another head unit question (thank you Honda for the pain)

The high end civics (e.g. Type R Touring) have a (crappy :dunno:) amplifier (in front passenger door) connected to the head unit via some kind of serial bus. The amp mixes music with navigation audio, system beeps etc and also introduces a pretty horrible bass roll-off. To upgrade the audio in...
  14. Cheap interior mod!!!

I don't have them, but here's the link courtesy of Google: https://www.amazon.com/Custom-Compartment-Liner-Accessories-Civic/dp/B0755L5KDX/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Honda%7C59&Model=Civic%7C752&Year=2017%7C2017&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive
  15. Steering Wheel Button Quality

Why is there a blank? The bottom right button is normally to activate/cancel LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System). http://images.car.bauercdn.com/pagefiles/73326/2017-honda-civic-type-r-04.jpg. In what region is LKAS an optional extra?
  16. Aussie Type R... the good and the bad

I picked up my Type R (Championship White) from Brighton Honda (Melbourne, Australia) on December 21, and absolutely love it. I'm trying to compile a list of differences between Aussie CTR's and the rest of the world. There's only one trim option. The Good It seems to have nearly everything...
