  2. Sport/touring owners do you use premium fuel?

Copy/Paste from another thread: http://www.civicx.com/threads/who-uses-93-octane.16346/page-3#post-318937 Octane is to prevent knock. Higher octane = less pre-ignition likely (knock). Knock is most likely when hot engine and outside air temps and/or under heavy load. Some cars are tuned to...
  3. $4,530 for 0.5 liter?

I'm most impressed that Honda finally offers heated seats on a sport. Since they are so stingy with manual offerings, I'm happy to see this change.
  4. Civic Si vs Elantra Sport vs FoST vs GTI vs WRX

GTI is the best all around car IMO. I bought one. Subtle outside looks (personal preference) and very high quality interior. Pretty good MPG on the highway. These have been selling at 6k off list recently. German cars aren't perfect but man the overall fit and finish along with sporty but...
  5. Anyone using MT Gear oil other than Honda brand?

Why so? Not saying you are wrong, trying to learn here.
  6. Anyone using MT Gear oil other than Honda brand?

This was what I tried. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008I3C3UQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  7. Anyone using MT Gear oil other than Honda brand?

Honda's in my experience prefer the Honda MT fluid. I've tried Redline and Honda in almost identical civics before (2003/2004) and the Honda fluid felt better.
  8. Another reason to lease

Some negatives: 1. At the end of the lease payments, how much did you spend? Now you have nothing or possibly less than nothing (owe more for damage or miles). I see a $179/mo deal with $2599 at signing + taxes and dealer fee. That's over $9000 minimum. 2...
  9. 2016 Civic Touring Sedan vs. 2002 S2000

So hard not to want to bash you for talking crap about an awesome car (Civic) and desiring another awesome car, albeit overpriced now IMO (S2K). Civic SI is a good reliable fun car with decent fuel economy. Rev hang is bothersome but maybe worth the value and reliability. S2K have gone up or...
  10. How long to start car in winter

Whatever you do, don't drive it hard until the oil is warmed up. If you have ever had an oil temp gauge along with the water temp, you will find that the oil takes another 3 -5 minutes to heat up to temperature after the water is almost up to temp. Try to resist high rpm's and/or high load...
  11. 2017 versus 2018 civic touring differences?

Likely find a much better price on 2017 on the lot. This was my decision. Best time to buy when the car stays almost exactly the same.
  12. Who Uses 93 Octane?

Octane is to prevent knock. Higher octane = less pre-ignition likely (knock). Knock is most likely when hot engine and outside air temps and/or under heavy load. Some cars are tuned to take advantage and make more power from higher octane. As you can see in post #33 the owners manual says 87...
  13. What did you pay for your New 2017 Touring?

I got $3200 off list just the other day. $35 for temp tag and title. $250 doc fee. I added the all weather floor mats. The rest was tax in my area 6.75%. Put down 5k on 2% back credit card. I bought a 2017 Touring Sedan WOP w/ Black interior. Did the .9% financing for 60 months. I'm happy...
  14. Official WHITE ORCHID PEARL Civic Thread

I'm new here. Old vs. New. 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 5MT 2017 Honda Civic Sedan Touring CVT Got $3200 off list price and .9% financing. I've had an '83 Civic 1500DX (First Car) and '92 Civic SI (First New Car) before.
