  1. Transmission bearing failure at 57,000 miles. Car no longer under warranty!

The noise is coming from under the car but seemed to be stronger towards the back wheels. That's all I can say. I want to trust that Honda diagnosed the problem correctly, but even I'll admit I could have sworn it was a bad wheel bearing (had a bad one of those years ago on the same car beleive...
  2. Transmission bearing failure at 57,000 miles. Car no longer under warranty!

2017 Honda Civic owner - Just a devastating situation I wanted to air out and get some advice on. Started hearing a humming/"woo woo woo" type noise coming from the back wheel areas of my vehicle recently. The noise drives me crazy especially on newer flatter roads above 50 mph. It is more...
  3. Water Noise While Braking in Slow Traffic

But the thing with my noise is it does NOT happen with every break. It takes a while for it to start to appear. If it were a clogged AC drain with water in there it would happen at every brake back and forth water moving around. That's not the case here.
  4. Water Noise While Braking in Slow Traffic

Good thinking on releasing the brakes and seeing if it goes away quickly. In the meantime I've had a mechanic friend tell me it may have something to do with low coolant. Will have to check in the morning.
  5. Water Noise While Braking in Slow Traffic

2017 Civic EX- Never ever heard this before so I gotta ask for some help. Had new front brake pads and rotors put in about a month ago, not sure if that has anything to do with it but I only noticed this just the other day while in slow traffic, creeping up a bit here and there. It is what I can...
  6. Where to find the rear strut mount?

I have had a light/subtle clunking noise coming from the rear driver side wheel area anytime I go over a ripple/bump/sewer cap that after many attempts at diagnosing the issue, I am now 99% sure it is a loose strut mount. I had thought this could be found somewhere in the trunk after removing...
  7. Will Rear Shocks Be Covered??

I don't care what work was completed. I will not let them get away with a downright corrupt act. They told me the tires had uneven tread. The tires were perfectly fine. I will go to war with corporate if I have to and rip them in reviews until they give me my refund. There are a few times IMO...
  8. Will Rear Shocks Be Covered??

Update: I brought the car in for a second opinion at a local mechanic. Upon inspection he saw the tire treads on the back tires were perfectly fine. WTF!! He said he couldn't ever see how rear shocks were the problem. We took it for a ride and he told me he beleives for certain it is a wheel...
  9. Will Rear Shocks Be Covered??

I really wish I read your thoughts before I got the work done. $300 later for new rear shocks and the noise is still there. They told me before I got them it would “take some time for the tire tread to even out” due to the previously “bad” shocks that caused uneven tread. Something tells me this...
  10. Will Rear Shocks Be Covered??

Hi all Have a 2017 Civic EX that recently started having a weird tire noise coming from the rear. One look at it at a local Mavis mechanic and he said the rear shocks appear to be in need of replacement as the tread on the back tires were uneven. Umm, ok. I'm kind of shocked that in only 4.5...
  11. Gas Door Will Not Close

This was it!! Such a simple fix, too. Thank you!
  12. Gas Door Will Not Close

Got excited when I saw this. Played around with it yet nothing. The "striker" or hinge i'm assuming you mean, does lock and unlock perfectly. The door/lid just doesn't connect to it. Really kind of mind boggling to be honest with you. Finally I did something where I held the lid shut and then...
  13. Gas Door Will Not Close

Looks like I'll have to bring it in at this point. This will be interesting though because I have done a lease extension for 6 months (I want to get the new Civic in the spring) and it is now over 3 years since I first leased the car. It DOES have under 36k miles though, so i wonder if this will...
  14. Gas Door Will Not Close

Well it "closes" but does not connect to the hinge inside therefore it appears open or "popped".
  15. Gas Door Will Not Close

2017 EX Just happened out of nowhere after fueling up yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary happened at all. I've tried playing around with it to no end. Locked and unlocked the doors(which also triggered the hinge inside) with the remote on and off to try and reset it. Still nothing. Anybody...
  16. Clunking Noise Driver Side Front Tire

It was a bad exterior tie rod. Replaced under warranty
  17. Clunking Noise Driver Side Front Tire

Hi everyone. I have a 2017 Civic EX. 30k miles. A few weeks ago I had begun hearing the infamous drivers side front clunking noise when going over bumps in the road. There was no accident or anything I can remember that would have damaged anything going back to a few weeks earlier. This...
  18. CarPlay for Dummies

Can someone please walk me through the very basics of CarPlay? I seem to be having trouble. My iPhone connects, Carplay shows up on the screen. I know its all operated through Siri. What do I do if I want to play a specific song? What do I do if I want to send a text message? What do I do...
  19. Blutooth/Phone Problem

Hey guys. LOVE my 10th generation Civic EX that I just drove off the lot a week ago, however I have a concerning issue.. On my 2014 9th Generation Civic it was simple, push the Talk button twice on the wheel and say "Call [name]", and it would recognize the name and start the call (95% of the...
  20. Damn good gas mileage!

Got a 2017 EX here. 31/40 on the sticker. Been driving in the city since purchase and have only seen around 23 MPG Just curious are these sticker numbers only achieved with the ECO button on???
