  1. BIRD POO is toxic

When I started getting interested in detailing I came to this realization. Also, add another tally to the onr/microfiber in the car at all times camp.
  2. Ceramic Coating Recommendation

I would definitely add my voice to those who said make sure to detail your paint thoroughly. Otherwise you’re just locking in any paint defects. I just got an email from Chemical Guys about their ceramic coating so I guess it’s new.
  3. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Finally got out to give a bath to the touring. Hope to get her clayed and sealed by the end of next weekend.
  4. Removing bird droppings with Quik Detailer and paper towels

Because cotton tees are likely to scratch compared to microfiber
  5. Vote for you 3 Favorite Colors

Because people are different. All ghenHondandealer had was white cars and had to go get a blue one to get my business. I hate white cars followed closely by disliking silver cars.
  6. Vote for you 3 Favorite Colors

I love the Aegean Blue we have and the Rallye Red is a very sporty color. I like the photos I've sen inthe Sonic Grey.
  7. Lubbock checking in

I think it was $25,500 IIRC. It was $9,00 plus $16,500 trade in for an inherited 2014 Taurus.
  8. Removing bird droppings with Quik Detailer and paper towels

Why would the microfiber be single use? I have some that are ten years old and are still useable!
  9. oil change every 6,000 miles???

Though there is evidence of fairly significant dilution, I've yet to see a UOA that shows anything but rock solid wear numbers.
  10. SI Coupe is for teenagers?

Old as dirt and prefer the sedan (then hatch, coupe last)
  11. Post your POSITIVE dealership reviews & Experiences!

Frank Brown Honda here in Lubbock started out rough - dropped by two salesmen. They were competing with a very good and motivated Toyota dealer (Reagor Dykes). In the end, the third salesman matched the deal and gave us great service once they found the Aegean Blue Touring I wanted.
  12. What did you drive before your Civic?

1966 Ford Mustang 1988 Mercury Tracer (lost in flood, was a former rental car) 1982 Volvo 240 1989 Dodge Caravan (had been my dad’s work vehicle) 1994 Olds 88 (first new car) 1986 Saab 9000 Turbo (one of my favorites) 2001 Chevy Malibu 2003 Mercedes Benz C320 (horrible, worst car I’ve ever...
  13. What did you almost buy? And why you chose the Civic

My son is going to start learning to drive in the spring. With that in mind I started looking as my R52 MINI JCW and my wife’s Navigator are neither ideal for that task. I looked at MINI, VW, Subaru but end the end narrowed it down to Corolla and Civic. A good suite of safety nannies was a...
  14. Removing bird droppings with Quik Detailer and paper towels

Should I do it? No. Have I done it? Sheepishly admits yes. A little marring is much better than etching from a bird bomb. Ideal would be a bit of ONR or Opticlean with a nice microfiber kept in your car for such things. That and supporting a moritorium on non-edible birds.
  15. A New Preludeever was able to have one

Always loved the prelude but never was able to have one. In the zone where they made sense for me they had been discontinued. I noticed when researching the Touring I just picked up that they have designs of one. Do you think it’s going to be made? What have y’all seen about it? What do...
  16. Another frustrating decision

If it’s required in your state I’d don’t understand why you’d want the stress of worrying about getting a ticket every time a law enforcement officer drives past
  17. 1.5T, first oil change at 6500 miles, oil smells like fuel, flows like water

Fuel Dilution seems to be a common issue with this motor but haven’t seen any evidence that it adversely effect the durability or operation.
  18. Lubbock checking in

picked up an Aegean Blue 2017 Touring today here on the South Plains. Stopped by to say Howdy.
