  1. Event: Honda Announces HT3 Driving Shoe Inspired by 2016 Honda Civic

If I buy these will my 0-60 time improve? I already have an aftermarket exhaust, cold air intake and two turbo stickers, so I want to make sure I get the most out of my +97hp gains. Also, anyone know how many Type R stickers I have to buy to be faster than a Porsche 911?
  2. DIY Body Kit - Adds over 10% improved highway MPGs

Might be the most surprising thing I've seen on that show edit: http://bit.ly/1MxEbOt
  3. White Orchid Pearl - Night + Rain

Those bigger rims/tires give that car such a muscular look, and that's also a tasteful design. Looks so good on white. Well done. How much has it affected your gas mileage, if you don't mind me asking?
  4. 2016 Honda Civic sets new monthly record for 2nd month in a row

I agree with you, your point is valid, but it doesn't mean it is impossible. Look at the current Miata - it has gone back down all the way to almost to its original weight, and it is very reasonably priced. Also, the FR-S is around the same weight as the S2000, and it also has rear seats (I...
  5. 2016 Honda Civic sets new monthly record for 2nd month in a row

It does sound like good news, and I hope that the rumours are true. Unfortunately, I don't know if they are or not. I personally want a revival of the S2000 :) And no hybrid technology in it, just Honda's best 4 cylinder in a lightweight chassis.
  6. 2016 Honda Civic sets new monthly record for 2nd month in a row

I've head rumours that the HR-V is going to be getting the Civic X's 2.0 and 1.5L options. The 2.0L weighs less and makes more power than the current 1.8L - it would be good option for the HR-V.
  7. Injen Catback Exhaust for 2016 Civic turbo (VIDEO!)

They're DYNO'ing a CVT to begin with, let alone all the other problems with their HP claim in their last thread. I'm not saying it's not a quality product, and if you want to rice up your car that's your call, I'm just saying don't be totally naive. Keep in mind how easy it would be to show off...
  8. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

Just keep in mind there is no evidence of the 29HP claim that you shouldn't take with a grain of salt. DYNO'ing a CVT is possible, but introduces a lot of problems and just trusting CVT DYNO numbers without question is pretty much extremely naive, like saying to the world, "I am not a car...
  9. Civic X Hatchback (Prototype) First Photos!

Would be really nice if there was an option to get the Fit's magic seat functionality in the hatchback.
  10. Is engine braking bad for a CVT?

It would depend on two factors. 1) fuel consumption required to maintain idle, and 2) energy lost due to engine braking Sounds like engine breaking will increase fuel economy while intending to brake, while putting the car in neutral will increase fuel economy while intending to caost. This is...
  11. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

No one has proved one way or the other. I'd wait until until someone lines up against another 1.5t, or gets some 1/4mile times where +29hp will show a big difference.
  12. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

Time to line up against someone else with a 1.5t! Or get back to us when you get it to the strip. 29HP is a big increase and will make a big difference there. I'll eat my words if it's true.
  13. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

Wow, and no. There are problems with dynoing a CVT and you should put some effort into understanding that... before you go throwing a blanket statement on someone that they don't understand anything about what they're talking about. You even said yourself that 'you have no idea how dyno'ing a...
  14. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

Another big question I haven't seen answered is why peak power comes so far after redline on the stock run. Does the ECU let the CVT rev past redline? What's going on? Another one. Why did they arbitrarily pick a point on this graph that just so happens to be the largest gap in horsepower...
  15. 2016 Civic Coupe Reviews [Compilation]

Well said, RobbJK88! Only other things I would want to add is the improved (arguably) ergonomics for the driver with the longer door and windows, which Vtak Groceries also mentioned, and that the coupe is the basis for the SI and the Type R. Also, for me, and this is entirely just only about...
  16. Is engine braking bad for a CVT?

Yes, exactly. The only time you really should be engine braking is when you risk heating up your rotors to a point of causing brake fading, leading to rotor warping, or worse, brake failure. Say you're coming down the other side of a mountain pass, you can use engine braking to give your...
  17. Injen Intake for 10th Gen 2016 Civic Turbo: Huge Power Gains!

Since we're throwing around the word scientific now, it actually happens to be the case that the opposite of what you said is true: measuring acceleration is a more "scientific" way of measuring power than by using your DYNO with a CVT. This how science works: you create a hypothesis and you...
