Please READ entire description. Sold my CTR and have these available. Rims are Motegi MR116. See snip from Tirerack below. I think these are 42mm offset though. They definitely fit and worked well for several winters. Comes with centering rings and lugs.
Here's the kicker. At least one of...
I have a Golf R on order that should arrive next week (fingers crossed). The reasons are the normal ones.
Trade in more than I paid for the car 4 years ago.
AWD needed in MA.
I'm 51 and its my DD so the R is more shall we say... adult?
Will be nice to have heated/cooled seats, sunroof, head up...
Contrary opinion here. I tried the X Ice on my CTR and I hated them. I think I had a bad tire as they growled really badly. Not like the tread was aggressive but more like a real defect. First for Michelins for me as I use them on all my vehicles. I never got to drive it much but they felt...
Hi folks,
I purchased a K&N air filter part number 33-3058. This part number fits the Type R NON-USA models. I missed that note when I ordered it and I can't return it.
If anybody wants it you can have it for free. Just figure out how to get it shipped and send me a shipping label etc and its...
The symptoms you report describe balance. Shakes at 50-60 and then going away at higher speed almost always equals balance.
You're on the right track. I suggest you have the wheels balanced and continue to try and figure out if something if off with the spacers to make them not concentric...

I bought my STI in 2012 even though there were huge rumors of a completely new platform for the first time in 20+ years.
Then again in 2013
and 2014
and 2015
and 2016
man this is getting old......
Nobody knows how to beat a dead horse like Subaru.
I'll chime in here with a different opinion. I came from a 2012 STI that I used daily. It was tuned stage 2 with 325 HP at the wheels on the dyno. It was a great car and I miss it sometimes. I love my CTR as well, for all of the reasons listed here.
BUT I do miss the boxer rumble and how...
Yup its real..... part number is MR11688017745 and its been discontinued. I called a bunch of the larger distributors like Tirerack, Summit etc and nobody has it. Once the stock drops below a certain level they hit ebay and there's nothing there now. Looks like I'm sunk.... RimPro it is......
Well this stinks.... must have hit a pot hole last year. Rotated my wheels and now I have a wobble up front. One of the rims is definitely bent. Tried to rebalance but local tire shop says its bent.
They are Motegi MR116, Black with Red stripe and I think they look awesome on the car. I...
They don't make the R in any bad colors. They all look great and whichever one you see next will be the best one.
That being said... everyone knows a sports car needs to be Red!
Sure, to clarify.... its a real road with hills and valleys, stop lights, shopping areas and stretches of open road. Of course you can putter along in 6th in certain places on flat or downhill sections. Some places are more like 35 so you end up in 4th.
It was odd that I wasn't hypermiling...
Strangely the best MPGs occur at light cruising ~50 mph in 4-5th gear. I had this happen when I took a business trip to see a customer an hour away along a single lane double yellow type road with a stop light every 5-10 miles. The computer indicated 32mpg.
On my normal 50/50 highway/city...
I'm surprised by this. I love Michelins for this very reason. It may also be that I use a local tire shop that takes great care of me.
I bought a set of XIce a few years back and I HATED them. They probably had factory defects but it didn't matter. Michelin has a satisfaction guarantee...
This is also correct. That is why I said you should definitely take it for a quick drive. When I stored my car years ago I there was a highway nearby and I would zip up 2 exits and then come back. Just idling for a few minutes is not a good idea.
Yes its winter but there are always a few...
