  1. Grinding sound cold acceleration

Hi everyone. I've been noticing this grinding/metallic scraping sound whenever I accelerate the car after not driving it overnight. I barely have to put my foot on the pedal and so I'm estimating that it starts making the noise over about 2k RPM. Hard to describe but it sounds like something is...
  2. Problems with remote start

Yep it shuts off before I open the door. Tried this with the passenger side too. Doesn’t matter if I auto-unlock it with my hand or with the key fob. My alarm does that too if I leave a dome light on. It’s obnoxious but it’s probably meant to work that way. Confused me for the longest time.
  3. Problems with remote start

Yep it worked exactly as how you've mentioned it before. I would have to step on the brake and PTS for the takeover procedure. Moving the shifter or pushing the start button without the brake would shut the car off. It's just now the car shuts off before I even step foot into the car haha. So...
  4. Problems with remote start

Yeah I've read some cars are like that, but this engine is supposed to stay on when getting in the car. Then you can just step on the brake pedal and push the start button and it's ready to go. It's useful in Vegas since I used to cool the car a bit before I leave the house. Now it just shuts...
  5. Problems with remote start

No luck :( Dealership said they don’t know how to fix it...putting it in valet mode and resetting the ECU didn’t work either.
  6. Problems with remote start

KARR. Dealership had it installed prior to purchase.
  7. Problems with remote start

I have a touring sedan and I'm having an issue where after I start the car with remote start, the car would automatically shut off the second I unlock the door. This has only been happening the past month. Dealership says they think its the car alarm that's interfering with proper function and...

  9. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Installed a bumper diffuser w/ exhaust tips kit
  10. Exhaust Tips

They were super tight when I fit them on. I tightened the bolts about halfway anyways just so they don't get stolen or something. My driver exhaust also had that problem. I paid an exhaust shop 20 bucks to have them evened out. They told me it was an easy job, and it took about 15 minutes of...
  11. What did you do to your Civic today?!

Yup! It took like three weeks because he didn't have them in stock even though they showed as available in his listing. Should only take up to two weeks if he has them on hand.
  12. What did you do to your Civic today?!

Caved in to the OEM exhaust tips. Love them.
  13. Economical Exhaust tips

Yep. My driver side hangs lower too. I looked at some pictures and other Civics on the road to confirm that this is rather normal.
  14. Economical Exhaust tips

I just got them today. I was able to fit them over the pipe but not far down enough to tighten them properly.
  15. Economical Exhaust tips

Like it won't fit under the bumper or it won't fit onto the pipes? The rear is designed a bit differently. That may be why.
  16. What did you do to your Civic today?!

As a broke, OCD grad student, I am quite jealous of your collection.

  18. Steering wheel covers

I picked this one up at my local AutoZone. It wasn't that hard to slip on, and it fits snugly. It's also really nice quality and hasn't shown any noticeable signs of wear. You can order it here if you're interested...
  19. Sealant vs. Wax?

The main difference between the two is that sealant is a "synthetic" wax. It will last a few months longer than let's say carnauba wax. Some people like the look of carnauba better than a sealant, so they will just put an extra layer of it over the sealant. I personally only use Meguair's ULW...
  20. Remote range/distance?

My range is really short too. I pretty much have to be standing in front of the vehicle...
