  1. Infotainment software update?

Finally got around to installing the replacement radio. Ended up being from a Canadian VIN so I emailed a Canadian Honda dealer and they gave me the code. Install was pretty easy and swapping the touchscreen was too. Even though it was a Canadian radio it works fine with US cars. I now have...
  2. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

Does the VIN number start with a 2?
  3. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

If your VIN starts with a 2 then it is a Canadian VIN number- doesn't matter where the car is made, it means the VIN number is registered in Canada. The website for the radio codes are only for USA VIN numbers. Unfortunately Honda Canada does not have the same website as USA Honda and has a...
  4. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

That's the issue- the code website is only for US Honda. Honda Canada doesn't have anything like that and they only allow dealerships to give out codes. I'm kind of pissed because the seller specifically said it was from a US car. The VIN number they gave me is a Canadian one.
  5. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

I think I figured it out. VIN is from a Civic from Canada :( Never indicated that on the seller's site. Anyone know if a Canadian radio will even work in a US vehicle?
  6. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

Just tried the same on the radio I bought and got the same response as you. Crap :( Maybe the site is down?
  7. Replaced stereo. Getting code screen

Whoa, I was just ready to do the same thing. Hope this isn't an issue. Maybe try a different browser. Did you have to use your original screen? If so how easy was it to take the screen off the old radio? Thanks- good luck
  8. Infotainment software update?

There isn't. I did the same thing and no audio apps work in Android Auto. Only solutions would be to get an Apple phone (Carplay works fine) or an old radio from the junkyard. I just got an old radio from another 2017 Ex online for $90- didn't come with a screen but I'm just going to swap my old...
  9. Infotainment software update?

Just a warning, for some Android Auto doesn't work correctly after the 197 update.
  10. Air conditioning condenser issue is real

2017 EX-T sedan. My AC went out at 48,000 miles. Took it in last Wed and they had to order a new condenser. Service rep said they are getting a lot of Civics in and said they will have it ready as soon as the condenser is in. Picked it up today and it works fine. Service rep said the did 12...
  11. Infotainment software update?

Wish you were close to Ohio- I would pay you to put my radio back to how it was. I have the 197 firmware and the original firmware both on USB I bought from Honda.
  12. Infotainment software update?

I am not aware of any updates software. I did the same and haven't been able to use Android Auto for like 2 years now. It stinks. I tried forever to find a work around or some phone setting that would fix the audio but nothing worked. So regret ever doing the software update.
  13. After Market Headunit for the Premium-Audio-System?

But when :( Civic is not listed as being supported yet.
  14. Problem playing MP3 files from USB drive

Android Auto can run on your phone's screen, you don't need a head unit. It is worth a try.
  15. Problem playing MP3 files from USB drive

Just get a cell phone that has enough memory for your music and use bluetooth for everything. Much easier than dealing with a new head unit. I gave up and use my phone for everything through bliuetooth and have zero issues and it always works. Android Auto runs natively on the phone, SiriusXM...
  16. Anyone interested in a HondaLink headunit?

I would be! I'm looking to replace my radio in a 2017 Civic EX-T. I l flashed my radio to a firmware that wasn't meant for it and screwed up Android Auto. If your radio has the original software and is from a 2017 EX-T I would be interested. Thanks !
  17. Android Auto Connection Nightmare

The issue with AA you are describing (music players not working, only the GPS) is what others have experienced when we flashed our radios to the 197 firmware. I have found no solution for that and the radio will not let you go back to an older firmware. it stinks, but it is my own fault. If...
  18. Satellite Radio swap?

The SiriusXm app is also compatible with Android Auto. You can run Android Auto on your phone and it works fine- just set up your favorites on the Sirius app and its easy to switch stations. There are bluietooth adapters you can get the use the 3.5 jack. You could easily use one of those and...
  19. Satellite Radio swap?

Huh? Why won't the car keep it charged, you have a 12v power outlet? Switch to just an online subscription and use the Sirius app on your phone, connect the phone to the car's bluetooth. I've don't that for almost 2 years on my Civic and it works great. You could also buy a Sirius stand alone...
  20. Infotainment software update?

Yeah, I'd rather not go to that extreme. Should not have done it and now I'm stuck with no music audio working properly in Android Auto. It's the strangest bug- other audio works but if you play a music only app in AA it doesn't work.
