  1. Do any of you long time "Honda Vtec" lovers miss the old screamer engines?

Purely by coincidence I am just sitting here waiting for a K20A to fire up on the dyno, as I usually go in and have a look/listen when we are running them. We have a few hundred of these engines that we have sold over the years (for motorsport), and quite a few are still out racing with our...
  2. Anyone care to share dyno number?

That's precisely why we very rarely quote horsepower numbers for our race engines, we prefer to show before/after comparison curves. Most dynos vary from day to day based on air temp, humidity etc as well as the preprogrammed offsets, let alone from dyno to dyno and their individual accuracies...
  3. Civic Type R in Japan

We do see the opportunities with FK8, and it will come, but as you will appreciate, the Mugen philosophy is to come to the market only when the product is fully developed and tested . There will be something to see at Tokyo Auto Salon 2018.
  4. How long before Type-Rs are sold for a reasonable price in California

I remember seeing a few times the North American Touring Car Championship that came on the CART undercard in 96/97, but the Honda's in that were Accords, so obviously that was the racing model of choice for Honda USA at that time.
  5. Does your plaque match the last digits on your VIN?

As production numbers increase they tend to get even more random. If you ever see any with R-00000 then that will (should) be one of the pre-production prototypes. Back in 2010 we built a limited batch of FN2 Civic Type R Mugen and for those we had blank plaques on which we engraved the Mugen...
  6. NSX in my shop today *pics*

I suspect that to buy NSX parts you may have to provide proof of NSX ownership (I'm pretty sure you do in the UK)
  7. Civic Type R in Japan

Yes, historically Mugen stuff is pretty much specced and designed for JP market so RHD only, normally.
  8. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

I do find the concept on this thread interesting. To the best of my knowledge, in the UK dealers cannot sell cars above the list price otherwise they run the risk of losing the franchise (this certainly used to be the case some years ago when I was in the trade). There were ways round it though...
  9. Aftermarket mods for your Type R...

Mugen mats have been released for FK8, but nothing else at the moment.
