  1. Hondata R&D finds limit of Civic CVT

When you're literally slamming the shifter into each gear while power shifting, I can imagine things will eventually break. This is a Honda Civic. Not a dragster.
  2. 2017 Civic Hatchback - Ugly?

It all comes down to personal taste but I myself find the new hatchback quite fugly! It looks disporportioned. It's as if Honda tried to get too edgy and went overboard and messed it up. Another thing that I find ugly about the new generation Civic is the rims on the ex-t & ex-l. They...
  3. Crash mitigation can be DANGEROUS if you're a spirited/aggressive driver.

I mentioned how this feature can be dangerous for those who do drive aggressively because it can apply the brakes at a time when you're making tight lane changes resulting in an accident. Not that I promote aggressive driving but it does exist.
  4. Crash mitigation can be DANGEROUS if you're a spirited/aggressive driver.

I'll clarify. I merged onto the highway and made my way to the middle lane where I got stuck behind a driver going 35mph. I noticed a driver coming in the left lane and decided to let him pass prior to me making the lane change. Once he passed I made the lane change and accelerated up to...
  5. Crash mitigation can be DANGEROUS if you're a spirited/aggressive driver.

    - Traffic was not heavy. It was actually pretty clear. - The system thinking I need to slow down or giving me a warning is fine. Bringing my car to an almost screeching halt on a highway when traffic is flowing is flat out dangerous! - Again, traffic was very light and accelerating from...
  6. Crash mitigation can be DANGEROUS if you're a spirited/aggressive driver.

Posted this over at the driveaccord forum but being a former civic owner and member of this site I figured I'd give you guys the heads u as well. This past wknd I was driving south on the West Side Highway in NYC and I ended up behind a vehicle that was driving extremely slow. When the left...
  7. Went in for a 2016 Civic and left with an Accord Sport

This is not always the case. Especially when it comes to leases. Sure you can roll all the fees/taxes/etc into the monthly payment. I lease and generally pay the taxes and dmv fee's upfront as it knocks off about $60/month from my monthly payment.
  8. Went in for a 2016 Civic and left with an Accord Sport

I'd say give it a month or 2 to get acclimated to the car. I went from a '14 Civic EX to a '16 Accord sport and I was uncomfortable for the first month. The Accord is a much bigger car with bigger steering wheel and I couldn't find a comfortable seating position and able to have a clear view...
  9. Went in for a 2016 Civic and left with an Accord Sport

If it wasn't for the discomfort of the drivers seat in the civic I would have chose the touring over the Accord sport without thinking twice. Then again, the U.S version of the sport doesn't come with the same features that the Canadian model does. I mainly drive alone 95% of the time and...
  10. Went in for a 2016 Civic and left with an Accord Sport

May I first ask what is it about the Civic Touring that you don't like and want to trade it in for the Accord Sport?
  11. 19" HFP wheels on 2016 Civic?

No! Just No! You're car will look like a pregnant grasshopper. Stay with the 17"s as they look nice!
  12. Dual Exhaust on the 2016 Civic

Surely there's a reason for it but I can't wrap my ahead around why Honda would HIDE IT! It's the most economy looking dual exhaust system I've ever seen. Why not give it the same look as the Accord dual exhaust set up?
  13. 1.5 turbo engine refinement?

Looking into getting a Touring model for the wife (so that I can play with it too). LOL. I was in the market for a new car last month and ended up going with the Accord Sport being that I was shopping around prior to Honda giving lease incentives on the '16 Civic. My question is, how...
  14. Dirt factor for White Orchid Pearl

White is actually easier to maintain and hide dirt than black. Black is a real PITA to maintain. Easiest color in my opinion to maintain and hide dirt is silver.
  15. 2016 Civic Coupe: Detroit Auto Show

Dont like. The rear 3/4 looks strange and those wheels are terrible.
  16. My new black EX-L with Navigation

Congrats on the new ride. Black is beautiful when new/clean. Just make sure you hand wash rather than taking to a car wash. Black paint is extremely susceptible to very noticeable swirl marks. Detailing twice a year can keep that at bay.
  17. 2016 Touring or ILX?

If you're referring to me, I joined this forum because I previously owned a 2014 Civic Ex and was contemplating on turning it in for a '16 Civic. I joined this forum for the same reasons everyone did. To obtain and exchange information on the '16 Civic. When I created this thread I was...
  18. 2016 Touring or ILX?

I think everyone is judging all cvt's based on how bad the early cvt's were. Especially Nissans! Honda makes the best cvt of any car manufacturer. I had one in my '14 civic ex and now in my '16 accord sport. Both work flawlessly. You wouldn't even know there's a cvt in my accord.
  19. Regretting Not Getting Sensing

How long have you been driving? Do you need sensing or do you want sensing? If you've been doing fine all these years without sensing then so be it. What's done is done. You would take too big a hit to trade in now. Sensing is a $1000 option. You'll surely take a much bigger hit than...
  20. 2016 Touring or ILX?

Lots of good deals on the ILX. Just few weeks ago Acura was offering good lease deals. $0 down, $300/month for 36 months. The ex-t is going for around $320/month right now for a lease.
